Looks like a very good card to me.

One thing to note, though. You do have a PCIe (PCI Express) slot, right? Motherboards from a few years ago only had PCI slots, though most ones coming out now support PCIe as well.

      I hope I do...

Just looked, these are my specs, so according to specs it has one. SO I think I'm good.

Well, it's a 50 dollar card, so you're gonna get 50 dollar performance. It definitely isn't a gaming card if thats what youre asking.

Does yours have a Geforce 6800 like those specs show? If so it will be a small, but decent upgrade.

Lol, it is a gaming card. It's not a high end gaming card. You won't be able to play the latest and greatest games that are designed to push your system on Ultra High graphics but who knows if that's even what you wanna do. If that is the goal, then yeah you're gonna have to step up a few tiers.

As of January you can see here where your card ranks among the best for your buck:

Only in name it's a gaming card, it's a mainstream card in practice. The fact that it's not even a year old, and yields that much less performance than the 9600GT suggests that the card's main purpose was to be a cheap alternative to onboard, and to be packaged with pre built pc's. Well, it is even marketed as a mainstream card for basic 3d applications and HD videos. If 50 bucks was the limit then it was fine, but a 9600gt is 20 bucks more and is atleast twice as powerful.

There would be no use on getting anything above a 9800 anyways with a pentium D, so I would assume (and hope) the dude isn't trying to blow the doors off.

yeah it won't be able to play the latest game at ultra high settings but if your budget was 50 bucks you got some bang for the buck

Really, From the specs this card seems like it can play anything, also I have a Radien X300 that play just about anything I put in my machine now, and this card is better the my stock card, so I would think the card I bought can handle any game.
