    Gaming Computer

Does anyone know where I can get a good gaming computer? I have someone who wants to buy me something for graduation and they really don't mind how much they spend. I don't want to get something way over the top, just a reliable gaming computer that can handle today's games with good graphics.

    Any Suggestions?

Look into Alienware products, they make gaming rigs exclusively at various price ranges (though i don't know about quality anymore since i heard Dell took them over)

You going to need to drop a good $1,500 for a decent gaming PC to run todays games on medium settings.

Lol, do not go with Alienware. There are a lot of people here with more knowledge about computers than I do, but I'd check with newegg.com. They always have good deals on pre-mades as well as deals on parts if you decide to build yourself.

          $1500? Really?

I guess cyberpowerpc.com might be alright, but you're better off buying the parts by themselves and putting it together yourself (or finding someone else who can).

I got my computer off cyberpowerpc a few years ago...they suck. ibuypower is the way to go, or just build one yourself...that's almost always the best bet.

I'd stay away from Alienware- you're paying for the name. Just piece your own together.

They're practically the same, and Cyberpower is cheaper. When I was upgrading, the price of an i7 spec I had in mind was actually 100 bucks cheaper than buying all the SAME parts on newegg. Maybe their QA isn't that good, I don't know, but their prices are definitely competitive.

You can get a nice i7 rig on ibuypower for around a Grand. And a 28" Hanns G 1920 monitor with HDMI for $300 from New Egg. You'll be set for quite a long time.

Thank's for telling me they have some on newegg. I didn't know. That's probably what I'm going to go with because

                          A) I don't want to put a computer together
                          and
                          B) I think the person would feel better if they bought me a whole computer that they know works instead of hoping that I can piece together one.

You can go to a local shop (one that you trust) and piece a PC together right there, takes 15 minutes and within a week you should have a new rig.

Do you already know which components you have in mind? I can help you with that if need be.
