I'm going to try this out tonight. Did they just add it? They have this feature during the football season on NFL Sunday Ticket, but I never noticed it on all the other sports channels.

I personally think it's pretty annoying. I have an HD tv and don't like 4x3 shows stretched to 16x9, which it does automatically now with that sports thing. Also, my receiver is really super slow on the sports channels now when it comes to inputing channel numbers or bringing up the mini guide on the bottom.
I wish there was a way to turn it off, honestly. Instead, I just hit the exit button any time I'm on a sports channel and it works fine.
This is a new feature that they released on Sunday.
They also have DLB (Dual Live Buffers) so you can flip back and forth between 2 channels and still be able to rewind or pause just like you have been watching all along.
They have MRV (Multi-room Viewing) so you can view any records show on most other receivers. You have to have the receivers networked.
Both of these are in beta testing, but if you would like to beta test for DTV (its free) and enjoy new features sooner, you can check http://www.dbstalk.com. There are issues sometime with the beta testing, but usually nothing too bad, but a warning is that it could cause something to go wrong. You have to signup for DBSTalk to access the DTV CE forum and you can find the announcement post there and discussions about it. The downloads are usually on friday and saturday nights.

MRV sounds awesome, I'm definitely going to look into that. I guess my DVRs are already networked, I have them both connected to a hub so I can get On-Demand stuff.
Is there a page on DirecTV's webpage that explains how the MRV works?
There is nothing on DTV because its still in beta and they don't provide that info until they release it. You can find some info on software where you can watch recorded shows on your PC at DIRECTV2PC.

Thanks. I was looking over that CE stuff earlier. Sounds pretty neat and I'd like to do the MRV definitely. I was looking at some of the issues people were having and it seems like getting OTA shows off the DVR seems to be an issue with MRV. 90% of my shows on the DVR are from my OTA antenna, so if that isn't going to work it might not be worth the risk of the beta. I need to look into it some more. Thanks for the links.

I noticed this feature over the weekend when I was watching the NBA playoffs and the draft. At first, it was a little annoying, because it would take a couple of seconds for you to change the channel, because it was loading the information. It is cool, because you get to change to a game whenever you want, but they have to address the loading issue.
