Watching TV shows on DVD is my favorite. I get so much more invested in TV shows since they are longer and you often get to know the characters much better than those in a two hours movie. Most shows have peaks and valleys but you know going in if the show is highly regarded or not.

For shows you watch live, like Fresh Prince and That 70's Show for me, you basically watched the actors grow up on the show over a 6-8 year stretch. When it finally ends it's pretty damn sad especially because it's crazy to look at how much you changed and grew during that same time frame. You don't get that in a movie.

Watching old TV shows on DVD is a very different experience then watching them on regular TV and almost should not be counted because you get no commercials and can watch the entire series in a day or so.

Also TV shows generally stay around a lot longer then they should. But movies are equally guilty of too many sequels that deteriorate in quality with each new part.
