    Big Brother 27

Today marks the 25th anniversary of BBs premiere (July 5 2000).

With Survivor 50 happening in the spring (thanks covid for messing up the years and seasons aligning), I wonder if BB has anything planned for a 25th anniversary. Maybe bringing in past HGs each week just for small things like hosting a comp? Would be nice if we get at least 1 HG per season appearing in some way.

This season has one of the bigger chances to a BB schedule in a long time.

Show premieres with a 90 minute episode on Thursday July 10th.

"Part 2" of the premiere is Sunday with another 90 min episode.

Wednesday also is a 90 minute episode.

Then going forward all Sunday and Thursday episodes are 60 minutes but Wednesday moves to 90. I hope with the extra 90 it means we can recap more things in this episode, and showing more things that get rushed on Thursdays episode.

Also new to the season, starting Friday July 25th will be a show every other Friday that is just past HGs doing a recap of things that happened in the house, some interviews with each other and things like that. I'm surprised they're starting it weeks in to the season and they're doing it every other week because this seems like something that could stick as a weekly thing. There's so much footage we should see that doesn't make it on tv, would be nice if this show really does show us lots of notable things that didn't get shown on tv that week.

"I've been watching Big Brother since I was 7"

Me: Nice, she's a long time fan.

Also me: 23 (her age) minus 7 is 15.....Her first season was BB12 and she wasn't even born when the XFactor twist happened?!

These people are getting too young.

Like all seasons, you don't have many standouts on premiere night, but for the time being I'll cheer on the "weird girls" Ava and Kelley because they're not like the archetype BB often casts with models, Texas A&M girls, influencer or so on. Speaking of which, Lauren is almost a copy of Alyssa from BB24.

Choosing to play in the HOH comp imo was stupid. I'd make a deal with the 4 I chose that I'll give them the chance to compete but they can't nominate me if they win. So you get safety week 1 and can play in the comp in week 2.

Rachel's back.........why? I started liking her on Traitors, but doesn't mean I'd want her back on BB. And they bring back the failed saboteur twist also from BB12

you did predict former HGs would come back!

also, this idea of other past HGs doing a recap episode reminds me of what the 90 Day franchise does, and I kinda like it

edit: actually, 4 days a week of BB is too much, maybe if they do the "pillow talk" themed episode after a 60 minute episode that works, but they already have all the live feeds and stuff, I don't want BB fatigue

        Now getting to episode 2.

The "accomplice/saboteur" I would've actually loved if it was nobody. As in BB is just messing with people the entire season with everyone wondering who it is (and don't even tell the viewers it's nobody). That would've been way more fun.

Now on episode 4...The accomplice almost got voted out! BB had Rachel in here to save their twist, because if not for her, Amy was gone and this twist fails for the 2nd time in week 1 which would be so embarrassing for BB.

This season does feel set up to favour Rachel so much. She gets to enter the season with safety in week 1 and gets to be in a majority women's cast (9 women to 8 men), when she literally won BB13 in a season with an all women's final 4.

It's only 3 days a week (but one is a 90 minute episode), but every other week starter later on in the season they'll do the 4th episode.

Me: Rachel might be back in the house AGAIN, but I'll give her another shot. She was decent on Traitors, and maybe she's not as bad in the BB house as I remembered.

          *2 weeks later*

Me: She's not making this easy...

she's annoying, wants everyone to fawn over her

best returning HG was Kaycee, when Julie said a comp beast was showing up, immediately I thought Kaycee, and of course she did her thing

I know the pre jury phase of the game is often boring, and you're often going to just see "house votes", but this season so far hasn't felt like many people are doing much.

We had an entire episode dedicated to the new HOH Lauren and the entire time just felt like she had no idea what she was doing, but nobody else in the house knew what she should do either.

And then you have Kelley whose only strategy is "put me on the block!"

Yeah Lauren kinda feels like pretty girl there to get famous, maybe get a showmance, but gameplay wise, the whole staring at the screen thing, yikes. That kinda felt like an anxiety thing, just from my perspective, like she was in a situation she couldn't handle. It was difficult to see other players approach her and get nothing back. I could be wrong and we'll see some amazing strategy Wednesday, but she came off as someone ill prepared to strategize and struggling with the moment

edit: ugh I can never remember if I should click quote or comment

If Kelley or Will get voted out this week it'll be horrible.

Adrian hasn't stood out much so him going wouldn't be a loss.

Speaking if Kelley, I know she said she's from a small town, but there's small towns, then there's where she lives.

The towns population is 93 people!

Before her, the only other notable person to come out of that town was from the 1950s!

Say what you want about Nicole post BB18, but this was one of my fave scenes and it's even more applicable to Kelley who lives in a place with 10% the population of where Nicole came from.

As for this week, Lauren is playing a puppet game. This doesn't feel like her move at all. Maybe it's just because she's 22, because she does seem to really know the game, but her strategizing and gameplay doesn't seem so good, but she feels like someone who could be better if she returns in a few years.

Between the 3 on the block, I'm glad Adrian went. I want to see Will go far simply because he'll be real with all his DRs.

Kelley better not volunteer to go up again!

who was the other notable person? a town of 93 total people having two notable in a span of 75 years is pretty impressive

My ignorance shows itself again, I googled the 1951 winner Yolande Fox and was surprised at the face I saw lol

fun fact: her refusal to wear a bathing suit led to the invention of Miss USA

                        (I'm a day/episode behind)

Kelley to Mickey: If I don't get nominated I won't use the veto if I win it.

                        Mickey: OK

                        *Mickey nominates Kelley*

Mickey: If you win veto I want you to not use it on yourself.

What world is she living in?

And that had to be the most awkward comp win ever. Literally nobody clapping or reacting in any way after Keanu wins.

                          Finally caught up.

That was the craziest vote I've ever seen. Production will definitely be talking to the HGs about this. I don't believe players are allowed lengthy chats in the hallway when voting (I know BB Canada had a rule where you're not allowed talking at all during the voting process), but Rachel literally talking to Ashley for 15+ seconds straight in the middle of the vote (but Julie couldn't step in because she can't talk to the HGs in that hallway since there's no direct line/speaker there), then Ashley votes Kelley?

Then Ashley comes out and again spends 10+ seconds talking to Will, then runs back in and tries changing her vote.

And after all that, she now thinks her changed vote counts but is also reading the rulebook with Rachel trying to see if that's allowed. I don't get how you can even think it's allowed. You literally said "I vote to evict ___", walked out of the DR, spoke with a HG, then walked back in to change it.

Some of these HGs are just plain stupid.

not just that, but when Keanu broke the silence with "i believe you have a prompt" Ava took it as some super offensive comment
