    2025-26 TV Season

Cue the "There's nothing good to watch on tv anymore" feeling.

CBS sticking with 90 minute Survivors and Amazing Race episodes to fill the slot since they don't have as many consistently watched shows (and it doesn't really cost them anything extra to make these 90 minutes since it just means fewer scenes for production to have to edit out).

Fox sticking with their Sunday lineup despite rumors of major changes like Simpsons moving to a weekday.

This new sitcom DMV was pretty good. Formulaic, nothing groundbreaking but with the state of sitcoms since the overtaking of broadcast tv by reality shows, you take watch you can. This will be a weekly watch. Reminded me a lot of Superstore.

I feel like one day we'll get a boom again. Not saying this will be that show, but the "traditional sitcom" has been a staple for so long (before being over done to death) that it's hard to imagine it won't ever come back around again.

80s and 90s were peak for those kinds of shows, but sooner or later we have to have these kinds of shows return.

I do wish there was more creativity in new shows. They all seem the same after the years of watching tv. Just need something new and exciting to watch, and I feel like thats lacking in television now-a-days.

I just watched the pilot for RJ Decker, it was alright.
While Speedman is no Tom Selleck, the Ft. Lauderdale setting puts off great Hawai'i vibes tho Florida is as uniquely uhh, ..unique. As is Hawai'i.
This first episode is already as good as the reboot of Magnum from several years back and I will watch the next few episodes to see if it can at least match match the pilot episode.

                Re: 2025-26 TV Season

For years 30 minute sitcoms were my preferred non-sports TV watching but great sitcoms (on broadcast network tv anyway) are almost nonexistent nowadays.
I didn't use to have good enough attention span to watch much over 30 minutes but between NCIS NCIS Origins and currently RJ Decker (all on Tuesday night) I dvr them and watch each of them in a little over 30 minutes. Right now I enjoy Origins way more than anything else on tv that isn't football but I still thoroughly enjoy original NCIS.

Last nights original NCIS was alright, until you get to the last few minutes, then it puts the whole episode in the A1 category.

That's how I feel about the state of tv today.

I just have a select few shows I even watch anymore and everything else I don't care for or don't bother giving a chance to.

Everytime I see a really good episode of NCIS Origins and say ''that's the best episode I've seen yet" it isnt but a week or two later and I have to say it again.
This last one, the episode about the origin of Gary Callahan, that's the best episode I've seen yet.
