Need help deciding on LCD HDTV

The first one is the Samsung http://www.amazon.com/Samsung-LN32B4...2610860&sr=1-3

The next is the Sharp http://www.amazon.com/Sharp-LC32E67U...2610981&sr=1-6

Both are 32 inches but the sharp is 1080p and only costs about $80 more. It'll mainly be used for Gaming and watching Blu-Ray movies in a small room.

The Samsung has a 50,000:1 Dynamic contrast ratio.

The Sharp has a 30,000:1 Dynamic contrast ratio.

The difference between 1080p and 720p on a screen that small is negligible.

    The Samsung wins.

Agree that 1080p vs 720p is probably a non-issue on a 32 inch tv. However, I don't put much stock in contrast ratio numbers from different companies. Important feature, but no standard procedure for calculating it....therefore, I wouldn't just go by the specs sheet.

I'd suggest the OP go to the nearest Best Buy or other retailer and see both in action. Can't go wrong with either.

Thanks, I think I will take your advice and go have a look at both of them. I'm actually thinking of getting the 40 inch version of the Sharp for $750.

I think my overall question is if Sharp is a good brand?
