Before the Devil Knows You're Dead - Good stuff
He's Just Not that Into You - Scarlet was so bad (not bad meaning bad but bad meaning good) in this movie. There's this office scene...worth wading through the movie just to see it.
Dead Silence and Dorothy Mills to end the week tomorrow.PS: You guys are great.

I'm into older movies but this one I just couldn't quite get into. I thought John Huston did a great job in his role though.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

Starting up a Bond marathon (again) watched Dr. No last night. Great flick and one of the best Bonds, in the top 6 on my list. Connery is terrific in the part. No gadgets and the film is mostly played straight the humor is there but it's adult unlike the latter Bond films. His scene with Dr. No at the dinner table is perfection. Great locations, some bad special effects (small budget and it's 47 years old), Ursula Andress is stunning as Honey Ryder. All in all a spectacular debut of a legendary character.Comment

Re: What movies have you seen recently? Part 1
Saw Let The Right One In for a second time yesterday, it's this small, independent, Swedish vampire movie that is drawing some pretty bad comparisons to Twilight because there's a vampire-human relationship with teenage characters. Right. Comparing Let The Right One In to Twilight is like comparing Near Dark to Once Bitten. It may have a similar plot but it's an entirely different film with a mood all its own.
Controversial comparisons aside, the film finds a way to be brooding and touching at the same time. Amazing acting (even from the child actors!), directing, cinematography, editing, score...this film is probably the best horror/drama hybrid of the last decade. Check it out, but please, don't go anywhere near the English dub. The studio releasing it is small, so apparently they hired a bunch of anime dubbers and the result is horrid (no pun intended).
The worst thing about the film is its impending American sequel, which apparently will be directed by Matt Reeves of Cloverfield fame. Ouch.
Unfortunately I had to endure the dubbed version. It was painful.
This movie has gotten high reviews from pretty much everyone.
I didn't see a great story there, though. However, I'm in the minority.Comment

Just finish watching Ink Heart, good movie. The story has some promise; it's about a person who when reads a book brings the characters literally to life. Had Brendan Frasier who spells win in my book.
The characters were pretty good to and the story was fine. It could of been a little more un-predictable but it was alright. So far i'm happy with the book to movie adaptations Hollywood is attempting

I watched T2 on blu-ray last night. Looked great for early CGI. Now, Terminator: Salvation makes little sense to me.

Clear and Present Danger
Excellent movie and makes me wonder why the heck I liked The Sum of All Fears. Harrison Ford was a little stiff in his part but I think that's more due to his character. I had to chuckle at the president though. It was a good lampooning of George H.W. Bush. I especially liked the dueling computer scene near the end of the flick.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

Felon
I think it was a straight to DVD. Val Kilmer and Stephen Dorff
Great under the radar movie. Gave a great look at the politics of max security prisons.
And the overall message, although sinister, was pretty awesome and badass.Comment

He went out like a G though. I loved the movie. One of the really really good ones. I can see why it went straight to dvd. ITs not a big budget movie. Them actors deserved to be paid like one though.Comment
