Blade Runner - This was my first time watching this on a good sized tv and surround sound and its like watching it for the first time. The blu-ray looks amazing. If it weren't for the obvious 80s clothing it would probably be passable for a film released in the past 5-10 years. Scott's element is obviously sci-fi as he creates a world that is futuristic while still feeling familiar and not too "out there" to keep you from really connecting to this future LA as a plausible, real place instead of sci-fi fantasy. It was also a very nice mixture of 40s style filtered through an 80s screen and commercialism and then projected into the future. It helped with the noir/detective motifs and stylings.

Not to say everything is style as the story and possibilities it contains are pretty memorable and interesting. Roy Batty is a damn cool "villain" and Sean Young is looking fine while Harrison Ford is Harrison Ford, America's Greatest Actor.

Devil and Dog Day Afternoon.

Devil was one of the few M. Knight movies I could actually get through and say it was pretty good.

Was Dog Day Afternoon supposed to be a comedy? Of course I'm kidding but I found myself laughing a bunch of times throughout the movie. Pacino was awesome in it. If you want to see why Pacino is revered watch this movie. I really enjoyed it.

I remarked on this last time I watched it, but it really does feel like a comedy for the first half of the movie. Its like one of those classic comedy capers gone wrong, but then in the second act it starts to shift itself away from the comedy and build up genuine tension and drama. It really is an amazing movie and Pacino is of course awesome in it.

The Help: I didn't read the book so I didn't have any expectations going into watching this but I really liked it. Emma Stone did a great job in her role as did the rest of the cast.

Daylight (2011): Fans of psychological thrillers will enjoy this. It focuses a lot on character relationships. It gives little background information and I can see why some may find it boring but I didn't have an issue with following it.

I just watch Room 1408 while it was on TV today.

It wasn't terrible. It did show the original ending and not the alternate.

Apparently, people were upset with the original ending which had John Cusack dying at the end of the movie so they put out an alternate where firefighters save him.

Extreme Measures

Hugh Grant, Gene Hackman (1996). A pretty low-rent film about the doctoral side of ethics when it comes to what cost they would save people's lives, given the nature of the research and experimentations shown in the film. I guess it was watchable, but it really wasn't that good. It turned more into a controversial topic that they spelled out into a pretty black-and-white solution as opposed to a film like Gone Baby Gone. The acting was less than stellar, despite the actors involved. Not recommended, but I don't mind seeing movies for the heck of it from time to time.

Cowboys & Aliens - 7.5/10

Really enjoyed this for what it was. Pure summer popcorn. Gotta love having Bond and Indiana Jones on screen together. A lot of cliche action movie plot points, such as the ever so predictable change of heart from Dolarhyde, but I still enjoyed it. Olivia Wilde is always a joy to......watch as well.

Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close: It was decent, the little kid was very annoying to me though. I wish Tom Hanks and Sandra Bullock had more screen-time.

Blast from the Past- seen it before a few times, watched it again today with my mom. Forgot how funny that movie was and an original storyline. Fraser played his role perfectly imo

Carnage: Fun movie with great performances by all 4 actors: Christopher Waltz, John C. Reilly, Kate Winslet, and Jodie Foster.
