If only it were good.
I'm not sure it's terrible but I'm sure it's not good.
I'll give it another chance if the 3 hour 45 minute (or whatever it was) version ever gets released. Might actually fill in and explain some of this non-sense.

The novelization of the film only extends what would be on film by no more than three to five minutes, and I think we can assume that the original shooting script didn't have any more material than that. To be honest, I'm glad the missing dialogue was cut out, probably as well as any of the other footage (except for one or two things).

Saw Argo tonight. Enjoyed it more than I thought I would.

I knew it received good reviews, but I knew there were many things in the movie that weren't accurate to what actually happened. I also didn't like the idea of Affleck as Tony Mendez, but he did a better job than I was expecting. All in all a great movie and I'd recommend it to anyone who hasn't seen it yet.

I think IGN heard something about there being some deleted footage explaining some origin stuff here and there, and they instantly assumed that meant at least another half hour of footage. In reality, it was footage that would have been intertwined with a speech, adding few to zero seconds of time.

Then there is added dialogue and some extra shots, which do amount to several seconds of time, clustered together to make about three to five minutes of more footage.

I listed the differences between the novelization and the film during the final act in the TDKR thread somewhere. I'll find it for you.

There are some other dialogue add-ons/changes and other moments prior to this that were different as well, but this had the majority of the changes. Again, amounts to superbly little in time.

Nobody's Fool (Netflix)- It's worth watching if you can stand a well acted character driven movie. I wouldn't consider it a comedy but it's not too serious. Paul Newman makes this movie great. Paul Newman, Bruce Willis, Melanie Griffith

A Midnight Clear (Netflix)- WW2 movie. Well acted, light on action, but a fresh WW2 story. Gary Sinise, Ethan Hawke

I like them both and I'm curious what other people think.

A Midnight Clear is an excellent, little-seen movie. Thumbs up from me.

Watched All That Jazz the other night. Not really a genre of my liking and definitely of it's own era, but filled with terrific performances (Roy Scheider is unbelievably good) and the movie itself was very interesting and not at all standard stuff. Thumbs up on this one, too.

Killing Them Softly - Horrible. No real plot at all for the movie, couldn't have been more disinterested in it. Brad Pitt was pretty good, but other than that there's not much. The movie could have also been 30 minutes long with how much pointless filler there was.

It tries to. Some of the Brad Pitt scenes are enjoyable and there's a few good bits of dialogue, but a lot of the scenes are just throwaway and don't really add much to the movie. Gandolfini's character seemed like a waste to me. It just lost my interest early on, and anytime I tried to get back into it, there'd be another 10 minute scene that doesn't really advance the plot at all.

And if they tried for the style over substance, they definitely missed on the audio front. The soundtrack/score is pretty much nonexistant. They even try a few mute scenes without sound, but none of them work well. Comparing that part of it to something like Drive, which was style over substance and nailed the audio part to perfection. I left the movie just wanting to go watch Drive again.

From hearing other people leaving the theater, it seemed like most shared a similar opinion to mine. Although I should take the crowd reaction with a grain of salt. When I saw Drive, most of the theater didn't like it.

There's a shot in the trailer tracking Liota getting his *** kicked by following it outside of his mobile home. Looked incredible. Pity.

I just got around to watching Ted, oh man was it funny. I've never liked Family Guy or American Dad, so I didn't think a movie made by Seth MacFarlane would interest me at all. But I am really glad I watched this, I recommend to anybody looking for a good laugh from a crude humored movie. It really did have a lot of funny scenes and kept me entertained for a few hours.

add: wow...just discovered he's the little kid in "Around The Bend". Love that movie and loved him in that. Hopefully Hollywood doesn't mess him up.

Thought it was pretty awful. I can't pinpoint exactly why but it was just completely uninteresting to me. I thought it was going to be a lot better.
