The Legend of Tarzan
Or as it should have been properly named, "The Legend of Tarzan AND Samuel L. Jackson". Yes, I truly have an SLJ bias for sure. But even his supporters have got to see after this "performance" that he is essentially the same actor in just about every movie he is in. I think I could have tolerated him in this had he not had about as much impact and screen time as the supposed star himself. SLJ and Margot Robbie both seemed miscast, seemingly living anachronisms in this script. Also, the time between the showdowns seemed to take exceedingly long and then when they happened were mildly anti-climactic. Beyond that, the CGI was phenomenal and Walz pretty much does it again as the villian (though it will be hard to surpass his role in Inglorious Basterds). I would have loved to have seen more of the retrospective scenes of Tarzan and how he progressed to his throne. Overall, I still prefer Christopher Lambert and the Greystoke rendition much more, which was only limited by the technology of the time to portray more lifelike apes.
