Saw wizard of oz for first time in well over a decade. Still weird realizing this movie came out in 1939! Can't tell by watching it though (minus the black and white parts). Obviously it has some logic errors in it (the wizard never actually helped, the witch dies due to water....and nobody ever knew that weakness? And good witch knew how Dorothy could get home,but waits till the end to be like "o ya, here's how to get home").

Funny reading some Easter eggs on movie. That Munchkin one is weird though. I don't really believe it was a real person if it actually was a person hanging in background.

I read that about eight times before I realized you weren't relating dinosaurs with baseball.

Yes, the middle two are ignored. There is no stating whether the upcoming JW sequel will cover anything from The Lost World (second film) now that Jeff Goldblum is returning, though.

(if TLW ends up being included in canon, it wouldn't make much sense for JW to exist in the first place... so I don't really know, it may just be a cluster-**** like the X-Men cinematic timeline).

I mean there's a rumor that in the original version of the movie, in one of the scenes it looks like there's someone(a munchkin) hanging from a tree in the background. It got edited over in the newer versions of the movie which made people think they're trying to cover up something. Some people think it's a real person. I think if it was actually someone hanging from the tree, it's a dummy, used to represent how much munchkins hated the wicked witch ruling over their land and how badly some of them hated that life(remember,it's a movie from the 30s, things were diff back then).

This one doesn't seem to contain one other I heard, that the green makeup for the WWW played by Margaret Hamilton (I think she did a couple of old Folger's commercials too) made her very sick and she may have almost died.

I believe JW2 just continues where 1 left off. 1 didn't end with the park shutting down or anything like that so it's still possible to just continue off it.

Though I actually like Jurassic World more than Jurassic Park. Outside of Richard Attenborough, I like main characters of JW more than JP.

No no, The Lost Word is the 1997 sequel to JP1 (so for clarity, I'll just call it JP2).

In JP2, Ian Malcolm (Jeff Goldblum's character) is the lead and they are on Isla Sorna, the second site where they house and raise the dinosaurs in the wild, and is privatized against anybody but Ingen and the government. Meanwhile, they are building a "Jurassic Park" in San Diego, where a shipment with a T-Rex breaks loose and wreaks havoc in SD.

If that were to happen as canon, Jurassic World would have never opened as a theme park. That's why I'm saying if Ian's character returns, we will find out if he will start talking as if he had been on Isla Sorna and he had experienced the SD rampage.

Ghostbusters in 4K. One of the better 4K films out there from a picture quality standpoint. Love Hemsworth character in it also.

Titanic

Probably should've known before that Bill Paxton was in it. Don't know why, but his character reminded me of Brian Pillman(old school wrestling reference). But also Victor Garber was a big part in it too. Only know him from DC shows, but hes been good for decades it seems. Though weird seeing him not as "grey"(his nickname in legends).

Long build, but story itself was good. And that ending obviously was the thing everyone remembers the most for good reason. 20 years later(December 97 it came out!) still one of most iconic movies ever.

For me, it's up there with Marley and me in terms of saddest endings. Mostly from Rose's old lady perspective.

Without other naming films that end sadly due to spoiling them, nothing comes close to United 93 for me. Of course, that is a true story.

I'm not saying Titanic isn't, but the characters are fictionalized and the sadness is mostly a result of their story arcs while the ship itself, dare I say, serves as a MacGuffin.

I like the film though, quite a bit actually.

Bigger picture it's sad thinking the actual titanic sinking might've been similar (obviously taking out the fictionslized parts) with that much chaos, panic, tragedy. 105 years this year since it happened in real life. 20 years since the movie.

She died. Seems like there's still debate among people on this topic. Purposely left open to interpretation. But just makes much more sense if she dies. Finally told someone else about Jack, came back to where it all happened, left the diamond at the place he died, and is warm in her bed(like Jack said she'd be when she dies) with all her pictures surrounding her about her life as influenced by Jack. All right before that scene on the titanic with everyone who died. Can't just be a dream, had to be afterlife

The Long Goodbye(1973)

Big fan of detective movies, especially noir. Surprised it took me this long to see this take on Marlowe. Really liked Elliot Gould as Marlowe, was able to pull the character off without seeming too cheesy or forced. Script and Robert Altman's direction were solid. Easily one of my favorite films.
