    It's that time... Halloween season
    [emoji316][emoji316][emoji316]

Time to dive into the horror collection.

1st up- Friday the 13th Part 6 "Jason Lives". Really enjoyed it. It's been a while since I've seen it. 1 of the better Friday the 13th movies.

Next will be "Nightmare on Elm Street" Still remember seeing this in the theater when I was a kid with my friend George. We had to beg an adult who was going to see it to buy our tickets so we could see it.

Best movie experience ever.... 1 of my favorite horror movies of all time

Just watched Nightmare on Elm Street 1 & 2. 1 still holds up the test of time. 1 of the best slasher movie ever, and probably Wes Craven's best movie with Hellraiser a close 2nd.

Really wish they would've gave Robert Englund more lines in the movie.

Part 2 "Freddy's Revenge" wasn't very well done. And reminded my why it's my least favorite in the series.

      Up next "Dream Warriors"

Re: What movies have you seen recently?

Watch Bradley Cooper flick "Burnt" again on a whim (it's on Tubi currently and I think a bit was edited out). Really under-rated movie. Just to see what goes on in the up class restaurant business, even if it's half that cut throat, was pretty astounding.....that and the preparation done for such outlandishly expensive meals. Cooper was solid as was the cast.

Also watched Date Night again (for stay at home date night). Very average comedy. And I'm not really understanding why everyone gets so ga-ga over Tina Fey. Don't see the comedic appeal.

Part 2 was so disappointing. They righted the ship with Dream Warriors, though.

Nightmare on Elm St. 3 "Dream Warriors" This was Freddy's coming out party! The kill lines were great. Storyline worked well. Really enjoyed this rewatch. Always loved "Dream Warriors" and now I remember why.

            Onto "Dream Master"...

Nightmare on Elm Street 4 "Dream Master" Not a big fan of the script. Started with some promise, but totally fizzled. Freddy's 1 liners were okay in this 1. The kills were okay.

Nightmare on Elm Street 5 "Dream Child" This 1 was another bad script. Though they carried over the boyfriend and girlfriend from 4 and premise had some promise, they totally missed an opportunity.

              Next up Final Nightmare

"Fallen", currently free on Hulu. I actually had forgotten the ending. What a cast. Plus, content that really makes you go "hmmm".

What movies have you seen recently?

                  Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance

The first in the Vengeance trilogy, wanted to watch Oldboy so I figured I'd watch the whole series. This movie is ****ing nuts. I've only seen 4 Korean movies at this point (Parasite, The Handmaiden, Burning, now this) and all of them have had some kind of class conflict in them which I love. The cool thing about this is the dad from Parasite is the rich guy in this, and the poor guy is a deaf guy trying to kidnap his daughter to use the ransom money for his sister's medical procedure. It is super Parasite-esque to me, even down to the fact that my favorite character is Yeong-Mi, the Ryu's (the main guy) girlfriend, who's an anarchist against the machine that reminded me of Jessica from Parasite. Side note, there's a sex scene where because the dude is deaf, Yeong Mi is using sign language to talk to him. I... don't have anything substantial to say on it, just that I had never thought about it before and now you should too. Just a dope movie with a dope ending, was going to go straight into Oldboy but I'll probably watch Joint Security Area before that and then do Oldboy tomorrow.

                  Joint Security Area

Park Chan-wook is just the man, another great one, better than Sympathy for Mr Vengeance but im not sure if it’s better than Handmaiden. Really cool story of a friendship between soldiers on either side of the Korean DMZ going wrong, again the end leaves you shaken. I’m just gonna watch everything he’s made at this point. Dad from Parasite is a North Korean guard in this, Ryu from Sympathy is also a NK guard, the main woman investigating is the lead in the 3rd Vengeance movie, cool to see people over and over and get a feel for their talent and growth. Oldboy next.

                  Oldboy

2 is my favourite, very nostalgic for me. Is sort of weird though, but also gross. Some bad acting and some good is I just like it the best.

                              Train to Busan:

Korean zombie thriller. If you haven't really paid attention to the Korean movie industry before then you need to. IMO it's on par with the US. I had been wanting to watch this for a while, and I finally got a chance to with my wife and siblings. We all loved it. It's one of my favorite depictions of zombies in movies ever. It reminded me a bit of WWZ. Excellent movie.

                              Raising the Bar:

I had seen it before, but my wife hadn't. It didn't really lose anything on a 2nd viewing. I'm not saying that it is some amazing work of cinema, but it is a cute coming of age story for the family.

Final Nightmare must have been so bad you couldn't even bring yourself to post about it. lol.

It is definitely one of the worst, but has a few nice spots.

My favorites would be part 1 obviously, 3, which of course everyone loves, and for good reason. Then New Nightmare. I loved the meta.

                                2 was pretty good, but I really didn't like 4 or 5.

I didn't watch any slasher/horror movies for Halloween this year. I caught a couple F13 movies on AMC, but planned on going through the whole Halloween series on Blu-ray, but just never got around to it.
