Re: What movies have you seen recently?
Crimson Tide (1995)
Great ****ing movie. First of the 5 movies Tony Scott did with Denzel Washington. Also worked with Gene Hackman again in Enemy of the State. Combine the frenetic style of Scott with two heavyweight actors and you end up with the type of mainstream film they just don't make anymore. A fun intense professional action movie that isn't part of a franchise.Comment

Re: What movies have you seen recently?
I went and saw the Mario movie with my family. I think this is the first time I’ve been to the movies in over 4 years.

Outstanding taut military drama. You’re right…..they don’t make em like this anymore.

Code of The Assassins - 9 out of 10. So many plot twists in this movie that it might have set a record.Comment

Suzume
The latest movie by Makoto Shinkai (Your Name & Weathering With You).
In some ways it is very different from some of his other projects, but it is still very recognizable. I would rank it behind both Your Name and Weathering With You, but I put it ahead of Garden of Words. I have really enjoyed all 4 of his movies that I have seen though.Comment

Sakra - 8.5 out of 10. Started off and for most of the movie was your typical over the top kung fu flick. But then it turned into a deepish heartfelt story. Donnie Yen didn't disappoint.Comment

Re: What movies have you seen recently?
The wife and I watched Scream 6 last night on Paramount+, and IMO this franchise (much like Halloween and Friday the 13th) has totally run it's course for me.
I love the horror genre, but there comes a time when there are just simply to many films of a particular franchise that are being made, causing me to lose interest in that particular franchise.
Scream 6 is just that movie, this is a franchise that should've been finished a long time ago, I wasn't able to find anything interesting about the movie and if failed to keep our attention at times.
I'm not going to go into specifics, but if I ad to rate this one, I would give it a 4/10, while my wife gave it a 3/10.People are for reviews if it backs their argument, and against them when they don't.“I believe the game is designed to reward the ones who hit the hardest – If you can’t take it, you shouldn’t play!” Jack Lambert“Quarterbacks should wear dresses.” Jack LambertComment

Re: What movies have you seen recently?
I watched You People this past Friday.
This is the second time I've given a Netflix comedy a chance and the second time I've come away thinking I just wasted my time. I thought the movie was too long and got a bit repetitive. I'm not even sure why Eddie Murphy took this gig. I like a lot of the cast members for other work but they felt out of place and the pacing made the acting seem really bad. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.Comment

I’ve always believed if you’re going to make the stereotypic jokes in movies/shows, that they gotta be funny and you have to lean into it, which I thought they did.
I just couldn’t believe Lauren London and Jonah Hill as an actual couple, in the movie and in real life also. Like nothing about them at all would make you go “Yeah, I could see them dating in real life”.#RespectTheCultureComment
