The Men Who State at Goats - Basically everyone I've talked to about this hated it. So I finally decided to see it for myself. Overall it wasn't as bad as the reviews I heard, but wasn't good. Great cast but I didn't enjoy the script and felt it should of been much better with the given cast. Still a decent movie overall.

Passengers- Good suspenseful movie. One of those endings that really surprise, or it surprised me at least.

Re: What movies have you seen recently?

Just watched two movies that I had low expectations for and actually enjoyed.

First was the the new Pirates of the Caribbean - on stranger tides. I had enjoyed the first two in the series then hated the 3rd one so I thought this would be more of the same but I really enjoyed it. Pure escapism and i think this movie was actually better for not having Orlando Bloom and Keira Knightley and just letting Johnny Depp be the sole focus. I didn't think the casting of Penelope Cruz was a good one but the rest of the cast was solid and overall I thought it was a solid addition to the series. 7.5/10 from me.

Next up was Scream 4 and once again the expectations were super low and I honestly thought I might fall asleep as it was getting late but it managed to hold my attention and I actually found myself wanting to find out who the killer was. Nothing amazing but none of these type of movies generally are but it was still decent enough i thought. 7/10.

Edge of Darkness --- yes, Mel Gibson is crazy as a loon, but this was a fabulous police drama/suspense. The storyline was just tremendous. Ray Winstone had a great role...it's amazing that he doesn't get more play in Hollywood.

        See this if you haven't.

20 years later finally watched Silence of the Lambs.

          Greatness.

But I gave it a 4/5 because I wouldn't voluntarily watch the film again just to watch it.

I really enjoyed the film as well. I recently rented the Lincoln Lawyer and really liked it. It was well acted and I enjoyed the story overall.

I watched Silence of the Lambs a couple of years ago (Was also late on it). I have become an Anthony Hopkins fan for life

I just recently watched Rise of the Planet of the Apes. Ceasar is made of win. Just...so much raw awesomeness in a character is overwhelming. When he talked for the first time? Pure unmitigated epicness. Hell, I was already on his side when he went and recruited the baddest mutha****a in the facility

Just watched the Tourist. It was alright. I predicted the ending about half way through the movie.

41-Year-Old Virgin Who Knocked up Sarah Marshall and Felt Superbad About It: This movie was actually pretty funny. Not a bad spoof movie. Bryan Callen is funny. Some parts were just stupid and not funny, but I laughed a lot more then I thought.

Skyline: I've heard nothing but terrible things about this but found it to be a decent watch. Good special effects and designs and some incredible action, but some of the characters and stupid decisions were annoying. Not as bad as I thought it was going to be. I wish some of the dialogue was better. I enjoy these types of disaster or alien invasion movies and this one didn't disappoint.

I watched Thor last night and thought it was awesome. With all the costumes and subject matter it could have easily turned into a camp, embarrassing mess but they did a good job of holding it all together. Chris Hensworth was awesome in the lead role imo and the special effects were top notch.

                      A solid 8/10 from me.

Re: What movies have you seen recently?

                        Unstoppable

Tony Scott has finally edited a movie to toleration, although the camera work and sound departments could have been a little less chaotic.

This movie was pretty strong for such a "simple" source of mayhem. It could have worked with or without Denzel Washington and Chris Pine at the helm of the cast list, but it was nice to show concern for how the characters potentially turned out in the end.

After seeing the film, I briefly researched the inspiration for this film, and thankfully there were actually a lot of pretty close resemblances. There were obviously major exaggerations for entertainment value, but this isn't like the dramatization that Invincible was or something. I strongly recommend it.

                        Dinner for Schmucks

It began with some promise that the film could actually provide some intelligence in the screenwriting (obviously not in the characters), then quickly turned a corner when Steve Carell's character came on screen.

During the first hour of the movie, I saw myself screaming at the TV more then I could sit back and watch stupid mishap after stupid mishap happen to Paul Rudd's character. During the second hour of the movie, I just buried my head into my hands at the sheer puerility of it all.

When the dinner scene came around, I counted at least six times that I hoped they were actually going to conclude it, but they just kept going and going, making it more ridiculous with each advancement.

Wretched garbage, it was. I don't even know how to describe/explain Jemaine Clement's role, let alone Zach Galifianakis. I don't know how these movies get green-lit.

Doubt: Great acting from Meryl Streep, Phillip Seymour Hoffman, and Amy Adams. Great dialouge and overall a excellent movie. Recommended.

I got really bored and switch channels.

Scott Pilgrim vs The World was on - so I ended up watching that instead - great movie, too. A little bizarre, but really entertaining.
