4th And Long (w/ Michael Irvin)

Paramount Network is home to boundary-pushing scripted and non-scripted shows, featuring unforgettable characters and immersive stories on Yellowstone, Bar Rescue, Ink Master and more.

Has anyone been watching this show? As much as people hate on Michael Irvin and reality shows this is actually very, VERY good.

The premise is 6 DBs & 6 WRs who missed their shot at the NFL for various reasons get a 2nd chance to compete for a roster spot at this years Dallas Cowboys training camp. Former special teams coach Joe Avezzano and former All Pro Bill Bates are along the ride to coach & mold these guys into something special. Along the way, there are special guests (former players) who come in and coach the players as well. You see a lot of legit football drills in this, nothing seems hokey or cheesy.

The thing I find so compelling is Irvin himself. As much as people disliked the man for his off-field shenanigans no one ever questioned his on-field toughness, his tenacity to win & succeed , and his leadership skills. You see this in his intensity and his sincerity when he talks to the players, and how he wants them to succeed. You don't see any of that "loud mouth, over the top ESPN crap" that he's known for. Listening to the man is very inspiring at times and it makes me further appreciate what he did for the Cowboys in the 90s.

Spike @ 10:00pm Eastern time. Give it a viewing and I'm sure you'll be hooked.

Spike.com has episode 2 uploaded for your viewing pleasure. I absolutely love the show and the fact they're bringing in former old school Cowboy players is pretty cool. And love or hate Michael Irvin but you cannot ever question that man's heart or passion for The Dallas Cowboys and for the game of football.

The show is alright. It's got some obviously rehearsed parts, like every reality show, but it's decent.

By the way, who didn't see the white 5'8" DB getting cut on the first episode?

I'm pulling for the big WR out of Tennessee. He needs to get his *** in shape.

Yeah he seems like he'd be the most legitimate player on the show if he was in better shape.

I am glad he was kicked off, whined to much.

Didn't agree with last weeks decision though. Should have been Speedy or the other guy. I fully expect Swan to be kicked off this week knowing Michael Irvin.

Eh, it's OK. It's not sanctioned by the NFL. So that's throwing me off at bit.

It's not a real mini-camp. But it's fairly interesting. It's a new take on reality shows.

I agree that Micheal Irvin comes off as Vince Lombardi! He needs his SAG card, cause he's acting his but off. Absolutely has some writers helping him.

Yeah Irvin is intense on this show. Shows those boys how to get in condition.

Anyone think he will get a shot at coaching one of these days? I mean cmon, who hasn't done a little blow at some point?

Speedy and Swan are little biotches.

Most everyone else has impressed me in this episode, especially during this scrimmage.

The show is entertaining, but Irvin is a little ridiculous. I mean, I know he is very intense but some of the scenes he is in are just way over the top. I'll keep watching, however there is not a chance in hell that any one of these guys lasts through training camp.
