Has anyone been watching this show? As much as people hate on Michael Irvin and reality shows this is actually very, VERY good.
The premise is 6 DBs & 6 WRs who missed their shot at the NFL for various reasons get a 2nd chance to compete for a roster spot at this years Dallas Cowboys training camp. Former special teams coach Joe Avezzano and former All Pro Bill Bates are along the ride to coach & mold these guys into something special. Along the way, there are special guests (former players) who come in and coach the players as well. You see a lot of legit football drills in this, nothing seems hokey or cheesy.
The thing I find so compelling is Irvin himself. As much as people disliked the man for his off-field shenanigans no one ever questioned his on-field toughness, his tenacity to win & succeed , and his leadership skills. You see this in his intensity and his sincerity when he talks to the players, and how he wants them to succeed. You don't see any of that "loud mouth, over the top ESPN crap" that he's known for. Listening to the man is very inspiring at times and it makes me further appreciate what he did for the Cowboys in the 90s.
Spike @ 10:00pm Eastern time. Give it a viewing and I'm sure you'll be hooked.
