MS definitely needs to look at some more user friendly software.

Being able to cash in on the gen1 30 and gen 2 80 that we already have plus a better software interface = a purchase.

That touch screen almost looks like glass, like what they are using with the 2nd gen Zunes. Could glass be used for a touch screen, which I highly doubt.

It's OLED, which makes it look like that.

DOH, I didn't think of the OLED. This thing has me so tempted especially if it has some kind of XBL connectivity. My only issue here is the space if its 32gb.

Re: New ZUNE HD... Announced with XBL Capabilities....

It's Official: Zune HD Uses the NVIDIA Tegra Chip

If our previous reports were not enough for you, Microsoft has officially confirmed the rumors. The latest Zune Insider audio podcast had Zune staffers Jessica Zahn and Matt Akers confirmed that the Zune HD uses the NVIDIA Tegra chip

“We actually wanted to confirm something; there’s been a lot of chat going on right now about us possibly putting the NVIDIA Tegra chip in the Zune HD. Guess what we did? Ok, right now, we’re going ahead and confirm that: Yes, the Zune HD does have the Tegra chip in it, which is so sick, so much better battery life, graphics acceleration, I mean, this thing is like a mini laptop in your hands.”

In our "Microsoft Working on Digital Entertainment Handheld" news story, we speculated on the possibility that the Tegra family of computers-on-a-chip could be the technology powering the next mobile devices from Microsoft. Well, we were right.
Check out the following videos to see what the Tegra hardware can do:
                <object width="425" height="349"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/rQa9nP4yyms&rel=0&border=1&color1=0x234900&color2= 0x4e9e00&hl=es&feature=player_embedded&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowScriptAccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/rQa9nP4yyms&rel=0&border=1&color1=0x234900&color2= 0x4e9e00&hl=es&feature=player_embedded&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" allowScriptAccess="always" width="425" height="349"></embed></object>

Here is another demonstration of Tegra where Director of Public Relations at NVIDIA Derek Perez tells us they came up with “what you’d call a $199 device that can do just about anything you’d want it to do”:
                <object width="425" height="349"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/NEmE1Xmir0U&rel=0&border=1&color1=0x234900&color2= 0x4e9e00&hl=es&feature=player_embedded&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowScriptAccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/NEmE1Xmir0U&rel=0&border=1&color1=0x234900&color2= 0x4e9e00&hl=es&feature=player_embedded&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" allowScriptAccess="always" width="425" height="349"></embed></object>

Re: New ZUNE HD... Announced with XBL Capabilities....

The 16GB and 32GB models come in cheaper than the iPod touch.

Though it appears to be down now, yesterday Amazon launched a product page for the Zune HD detailing not only pricing, but a release date for the highly anticipated portable video and music device. Seen as a strong competitor to the iPod Touch, the Zune HD is priced appropriately.

The 16GB model, the smaller of the two will sell at a price of $219.99, roughly $45 cheaper than the equivalent sized iPod Touch on Amazon. The 32GB player looks to sell at $289.99, a full $80 cheaper than the 32GB iPod Touch on Amazon, and $110 cheaper than buying the Touch directly from Apple.

Certainly Apple will have a retort in the coming months, but with the Zune capable of 720p video output and access to high def content via the Zune marketplace, Apple may have some work ahead of them.

If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)

At those prices, my Ipod Touch could be gone for one of these.

I love my 30 gig Zune. Down the road I'll probably give it away and pick one of these up.

I agree. I've had my Zune since the release of the 1st gen. I love it...but I think I would love this one more.

We'll I got my 32GB ZUNE HD for Christmas. So far it's been a nice experience. The touch screen is very responsive. I haven't downloaded any videos or pictures on it yet. I will say the 1 video that's pre-loaded looks great when playing. Man the OLED Screen is sick

It intergrated very well with my playlist. The internet feature is nice also. I tried surfing the web & it work pretty well. So far I have no complaints with the time I have spent with it.
