Just came back from seeing this. Pretty much agree with a lot of reviews that thought it was just so-so. Some really cool moments with just enough head scratching ones that seemed so unbelievable that it took away from the story.

I am a huge fan of the previous films and I was disappointed with the way Ridley went with this one. Just my .02.

Best Buy has several blu rays this week that come with ecash for Prometheus. Ateam, last of the mohicans, the X-Men movies, the alien movies.

picked up the 4disc X-Men 2 blu for $10.

We'll it seems like many are saying that this movie though having some elements of "Alien" is its own story/movie.

Reviews state that if you go in with that premise, you will leave really appreciating the world Scott & his team have created.

Will be interested in seeing how OS Movie Club feels. I will seeing this-1 next week for Father's Day

Watched Alien the other day to prepare, will probably watch Aliens today. My girlfriend will then make me rewatch both of them, and 3 and 4 before we go this, just so she knows about the world.

Hoping to see it. Possibly this weekend. Maybe I can round up a group of people to go. So excited for this movie.

Tell her to avoid 4 at all costs. Terrible movie which should even exist.

Seriously, the way they ended 3 should've finished the series. Four, especially with the plot it had, was just unnecessary.

I left the theater thinking it was okay but it's one of those movies that gets better the more you think about it. I should've watched Alien because the people I was with mentioned a few things from that movie that show up in Prometheus that I didn't catch at all.

I was pleased with one aspect at the ending. I have a few theories on different things in the movie, it'll be interesting to see what the rest of you guys think.

I would say it was alright. Definitely could tell it was meant to be the first of a trilogy, or whatever the plan is.

The effects were good and I enjoyed the characters and acting. However, I didn't feel a huge emotion of fear or excitement that I expected from the trailer. The ending felt rushed, also. I would say that you should see it in the theaters, though.

all the big epic scenes were immediately forgotten by the characters. Oh look, its Shaw. Remember when we killed her husband and then she went and took the alien out of her stomach? Well we are all friends now. Oh wait there is Weyland, he is alive. Run! Now save me and lets fly away...end credits.

I just like the first Alien film so much because it was simple. I realize this is more sci-fi then monster film but it seemed like there was just way too much going on for my tastes.
