For that matter isn't everything from the 90's a little better than things now?

It also has good-feeling nostalgia attached to it.

ah you young whipper snappers. Everyone knows everything was better in the '70s and '80s
Actually the '90s was the last solid decade in terms of pop culture. Ever since 2000 things have gone steadily downhill in ever segment of entertainment except for dramatic television.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

Re: Is it me or ....
There's nothing better about music from the 90's. There were great songs and bad songs, same as there is now.Originally posted by BlzerLet me assure you that I am a huge proponent of size, and it greatly matters. Don't ever let anyone tell you otherwise.
If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)Comment

Re: Is it me or ....
90's were an improvement on the 80's. They were better than this decade. But the 90's were the death bell for r&b. Its flatlining & needs a record company to administer cpr. Name me an R&B band after Tony!Toni!Tone'!. You can't. That's the problem. The 90's pushed the producers into the forefront & not the artist. Thus, little originality, little diversity. Just a bunch of mediocre crooners who have 2-3 yrs top in the spotlight, dependant on the handlers & executives for their fame.Originally posted by VP Richard M. Re: Is it me or ....
It's kinda funny, this always happens when people get older.
In another ten years some us will be posting on (whatever is in style to post on those days) saying "Man, wasn't the music in the early 2000's much better then it is now?"
Kinda like that dude in Clueless... "Kinda like how I torture my mom about the Beatles my kids will torture me about Nine Inch Nails, so maybe I should cut her a break?" (paraphrase)
It's an endless cycle, nostalgia seems to always keep the fond memories. Music that sucked in the 90's isn't kept in the landscape/ipod/computer, it's all been filtered out. So yeah, a greatest hits of any decade that you can think is gonna be awesome compared to the mixture of great to terrible mish mash that's thrown in your face on a daily basis of today.“Nobody in the history of the game tried what I just tried. We’re talking about on the biggest stage, in New York, playing out of position and asked to hit fourth for the New York Yankees. I mean, that’s never been done.” - Sheffield on SheffieldComment

Re: Is it me or ....
The 60' and 70's were the greatest music era's in my opinion. Too much of todays music sounds over produced and formulated. The early 90's when grunge was in, was the last music I truely enjoyed. There are some good groups out right now such as Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Cage The Elephant, Airbourne Toxic Event, and The Black Keys.
The late 60's when the Beatles where in their prime, Sabbath, and Led Zeppelin where starting out was music at its best and I wasn't squirted yet!Comment

Some kinds of music were better in the 90's (pop in particular), but the 2000's have been just as good.Comment

Re: Is it me or ....
Im so obsessed with the 90's. The 90's were the best decade for music. And by music i mean Rock. There is almost no rock anymore aside from A7X type bands.
The 90's had it's rock that went mainstream because it was good music, unlike today where i could pick up and acoustic guitar and sing a half *** written song (see that "Lucky" song.). Look at what the 90's had to offer dude....cant argue with it.
- Alice In Chains
- Rage Against The Machine <3
- Oasis <3
- Pearl Jam
- Nirvana
- Soundgarden/Audioslave
- Stone Temple Pilots
- Sublime
- 311/Beastie Boys (bands suck as 303 and rap/rock whatever owe everything to them)
- Radiohead
- Weezer
- The Offspring (although you dont really think of them as grunge really)
- Jimmy Eat World
- hell even Marcy Playground
- Green Day (bleh)
- Foo Fighters

It's more a matter of nostalgia if you ask me. It affects me the same way. I think the songs are better because they remind me of great times. Kids growing up today will say the same thing about this decade. It's just how it goes.PS: You guys are great.
