Good news everyone, Futurama is coming back!

Back sometime next year. It could air on Fox and then Comedy Central or begin airing on Comedy Central right away, though I doubt Fox passes. Futurama is one of my favorite shows so I'm psyched to see it get another chance. The movie format just wasn't what worked best for this series.

Good to hear its finally coming out. I remember reading a while ago that Comedy Central got rights to another season, but never heard anything more than that.

It was 4 movies that have been released and then they have been showing them on comedy central. I don't know if they have shown them all yet or not.

Futurama voices to be recast?

20th Century Fox Television, which produces the series, may be considering recasting the voice roles. Say it ain't so!

According to no less than cast members John DiMaggio [Bender], Phil LaMarr [Hermes] and Maurice LaMarche on their Facebook pages, a casting notice has gone out to replace actors DiMaggio, LaMarche, Billy West [Fry] and Katy Sagal [Leela].

It seems clear that Fox is trying to cut costs for the show by hiring lower-paid voice talent—either that or trying to get a leg up on salary negotiations by sending out recasting notices to scare the current talent into rolling over on pay.

But fans may recall that Fox TV tried to muscle the original Simpsons voice cast in a similar fashion. That didn't go so well, so here's hoping the original Futurama cast remains intact.

YIKES!

The difference is, THE SIMPSONS was SO entrenched that if FOX had done that it would've incited near riots. FUTURAMA has a strong cult following but in the grand scheme of things this is something that FOX can do and get away with it.

However, it'll just mean that FUTURAMA would bomb in its new incarnation because the original fans will balk at this and there will be no word of mouth for the casual viewer.
