    Firefox problem

I mostly Firefox as my default browser. A year ago I added an add-on that's called "IE Tab" which gives you the option to switch to Explorer engine (because I found that some sites function better under Explorer).
Today I started Firefox, logged on to some website, switched to the IE engine - and Firefox crashed. I tried it several times and the same happened. I uninstalled Firefox and reinstalled it (as well as the IE add-on) - but it didn't help. Oh, yeah, it happened after Vista downloaded and installed some updates, but I'm not sure if it got anything to do with it.
    Has this happened to anyone?
    My Specs:

    ZX Spectrum
    CPU: Z80 @ 3.5 MHz
    GPU: Monochrome display
    RAM: 48 KB
    OS: Sinclair BASIC

    Re: Firefox problem

Quite possible that Vista ran some updates for IE that may cause it to crash.

You can try this addon (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/35) to see if it works. If it also crashes, then it is most likely IE crashing firefox. Something the addon developers will have to fix.

Also what version of IE? 7 or 8

You should upgrade your IE to version 8.

Agreed. That's the best thing to try.

I might do it. What's the differences between 7 & 8 anyway? Are the menus and windows the same? I don't feel like getting used to a new layout...

The layout is pretty much the same. If you know IE7 well, there really isn't a learning curve. The biggest addition in the layout is the favorites bar.

8 is a far superior browser to 7. Way better performance including better tab performace, and some cool new features like web slices and accelerators.
