Anyone seen Taking Back Sunday live?

I'm headed to the House of Blues in Boston on the 26th to see Taking Back Sunday play. They are one of my favorite bands, but haven't seen then live yet. Anyone here seen them before? I'm headed there with a couple of buddies. Should be a great weekend!

Not yet, but in August they're opening for the blink-182 show I'm going to.

I saw them right when "Louder Now" was coming out.

They're a decent show. I really dislike the lead singer's personality, though, so he got on my nerves. And he loves to spin and toss that microphone... haha.

I've really been disappointed by their last two CD's... they're just not the Taking Back Sunday I know and love. "Tell All Your Friends" and "Where You Want to Be" were such good CD's that draw certain emotions from me that "Louder Now" and this new one can't even come close to.

I wouldn't see them live again because of that.

I saw them too when Louder Now was coming out. It was a good show, they played a lot of the old stuff which is what anyone really wants anyway. Expect there to be a high contingency of high school girls and boys there that think they are sweet.

Any TBS fans listen to Fred Mascherino's solo CD that dropped in October of 2007?

He goes by "The Color Fred" and his CD was "Bend to Break."

I think it's better than either of the last two TBS CD's.

I hear you on everything in this post, from the lead kind of annoying me to the last two albums not being as good as Tell All Your Friends and Where You Want To Be. Their newer stuff definitely doesn't invoke the same emotions as the first ones did. That's usually what happens; bands mature and lose that edge. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.

I saw them for the first time 4 or 5 years ago, and wasn't too impressed, but I went to another show to see if it was just a one time thing, and it was the same. They just don't have good stage presence. Besides, if I wanted to hear each song done exactly the same as it sounds on the CD, I would just listen to the CD and save the money.

All that being said, I'm seeing them in September when they open for Blink and Weezer.
