    Cracked LCD screen (laptop)

Woke up one morning (laptop was on table) got up and the screen looks to be cracked. Worked fine the night before and was left there, no one touched it. We sent it in to HP just to see if they would fix it, of course they wouldn't, unless we wanted to pay $450 bucks, the laptop was only $650.

Has anyone every replaced a screen, is it fairly easy? I see some LCD screens out there for around $200, $250.

I don't think there is any other options out there.

They aren't difficult to replace, it can just be tedious getting the laptop apart and back together again.

They are pretty easy, a few screws hidden under rubber around the bezel, remove the plastic (careful not to mar it while separating the two halves), unplug ribbon cable and power connector, remove a couple of screws holding the LCD to the metal supports, remove panel, reverse process with new panel.
