    Les Claypool=WOW

Went and saw Les tonight at the Britt Festival in Jacksonville,Oregon. All I can say, is amazing!! Only Les Claypool can do almost an entire(with the exception of one song), without a guitarist and make it sound killer. His drummer and percussionist(two people),were fantastic and did a killer solo together. He performed "Southbound Pachyderm" and "Fistacuffs" from his Primus days, both were excellent. I thought for a moment he was gonna play "Mr. Krinkle", but sadly did not .

Overall, awesome show, and I highly recommend anyone to go see him live. Even with A Drummer, A Percussionist, and a Cello player, and almost no guitar, Les has a killer sound and show.

I've seen Primus in concert three times...ABSOLUTELY love them! They're one of those bands who are much better live than they are on an album and Les Claypool is pretty much the reason for that.

There's an old wise tale that says he got his start by auditioning for the open bassist spot in Metallica...but the guys in Metallica told him he was too good to be a part of their band and that he deserved his own band, hence the birth of Primus. Not sure how true that story is but it certainly sounds believable, given the time frame when Metallica would've been looking for a new bassist and when Primus first started.

      That's true.

He went to school with Kirk Hammet, he also didn't fit Metallica's style, the band and he knew it as well.
