No kidding. I got lucky and grabbed a copy of Number Ones at a Kmart and then landed the 25th Anniversary Thriller album with the alternate holographic cover and thats all the albums I was looking to buy. I also picked up a copy of the Time magazine that came out Monday but Barnes and Noble had a ton of those so clearly they arent very limited.

I forgot to check on Friday, but I went into the nearest record store (F.Y.E.) in Boston's financial district and alls they had were 3 copies of Thriller. I heard a couple of people ask if/when they were getting more copies the other albums the 10 minutes or so I was in the store. I wasn't looking to buy, but I did end up picking up a copy of Time. Borders had a few left that I'm guessing they eventually sold out of.

The first of likely many videos to surface of Jackson's last days at rehearsal:

            http://www.cnn.com/2009/SHOWBIZ/Musi...rap/index.html

Nothing spectacular, just some light dancing and lip-synching but he doesn't look like a man about to die.

He looked real slow and a bit out of it in that video.

He was basically doing the same dance from the video for that song, though perhaps a bit slower. I think we do have to take into account that he's probably not going to go full tilt in a rehearsal anyway until the night before the actual show.

I kind of understand the point of buying the Time mag, but why go out and buy those CD's? They have been on the shelves for a while now...does his death make them more of a must buy for you? It's not like they will be going anywhere.

Re: Michael Jackson has passed away

Hmm. He looks better than what some of the "near death" reports claimed to see in those rehearsals. However, he did little actual dancing in that short clip. Mostly walking/strutting back and forth and several poses. I believe the "Mirror" article that I linked a couple pages ago did claim "..although he could dance for short periods of time, during the entire concert he would be dancing 13 to 15 minutes all together."

How about his dancers. Probably all in their late teens to early 20's. About to go on tour with MJ, in London, performing every night. When they made the tour, they quit their day jobs, quit trying out for other artists/videos/shows because they got the call to the "big leagues!" The highlight of their lives, something to remember forever....man that sucks.

Considering that music stores probably barely had any Jackson music before his death, demand is more than supply right now.

Yeah I just saw the first part of the rehersal video; he looked really good (which makes it a little hard to watch, strangely). Looked like the show he was going to put on would've been incredible. I forgot he had done a live interview with Oprah years ago; only watched the first part but it was kind of interesting; really like the beginning retrospective:

HBO's "The Wire" should rank as one of the top 10 shows EVER on tv - period

I was looking to buy some of his CD's prior to his death anyways and once he died and the CD's were getting snatched up right and left so people could sell them on ebay I figured I better grab them before their all gone.

Side note, has anyone checked out the completed listings on ebay for MJ CD's? I picked up the Number Ones album for 8.99 and someone actually paid 102.50 for it on ebay, thats insane.
