Re: Michael Jackson has passed away

Such sad news. I love Michael Jackson. His music is timeless and is one of, if not the, greatest entertainer of all time. People of all ages and races knew Michael. My daughter knows Michael Jackson songs, shoot she has a few on her mp3 player.

I got back into the car after I heard the news and a radio station was playing Michael's songs and it was Human Nature, a tear almost came up.

    R.I.P. Michael Jackson

I love Michael Jackson, his music was definitely a part of my life. 80's kids didn't appreciate his journey. Just like most 70's kids didnt appreciate Jimi Hendrix.

I mean, the man had people around the world wanting to dress like him, HEAD TO TOE!! DAILY!!!
Thats so true. It took a while for me to appreciate Hendrix, just wasn't my thing at the time. But MJ was the joint. Man you know what sucks, I don't have a working tape deck. I would put some old MJ on but my Teac is messed up in a closet somewhere. Damn.

          This.

Young folks who didn't see that live can't fathom how hot that 3 minutes was...people came out of their houses to talk about it that night. I also remember all the neighborhood kids gathering at my house to watch the Thriller video. In his prime, he was flat out royalty.

I was seriously disapointed with MJ for the molestation stuff...where theres that much smoke theres gotta be some kinda fire...but that Motown performance will forever be how I remember Michael Jackson.

          RIP.

You don't do those kind of things or have that kind of attachment with just any recording artists. There's singers and dancer and good performers, there are great performers, there are elite performers and then there's Michael Jackson.
I remember taking 2 white sheets of paper, tracing my hand over the paper with a pencil, cutting along the lines, then stapling both hand shaped pieces together around the edges and wearing like a glove to school and showing it off,LOL. I also remember having a plain red jacket, and scribbling the black ribbing on the front and back trying to recreate the jacket from the "thriller" video with a black magic marker, and man was my mother FURIOUS!!! LOL. It's amazing that I haven't thought about those memories for YEARS until now, and I was no older then 5 or 6 years old. I'm 31 years old tomorrow,God willing, and I feel like I lost a childhood icon. RIP.

                      Gotta quote this for truth.

People that aren't old enough to understand simply cannot comprehend just how incredible that performance was. I can't think of another musical performance since that has been that profound.

                          Yep.

People would weep over Mike, like, pass out, go to the hospital, serious!!!

This will be a day to remember, the day Michael Jackson died.

That's what I was saying. There is no entertainer who was bigger. All over the world people loved the man, people creid, fainted etc... Truly an iconic figure.
