Directv HD vs Dish and Comcast
Switching to Directv when I move in August. Loved it when I had it before but never had their HD. Have Dish HD currently. If anyone has had both or Comcast....is there a noticeable difference? ThanksWWE 2k Universe : Re-Booking WWF And WCW After Wrestlemania IX: Universe

Re: Directv HD vs Dish and Comcast
when u get your box u will be able to choose which HD setting u want to set it at like 720p, 1080p, etc. there HD is as clear as it gets....especially if u have that sports package u can't go wrong....wat kind of tv do u have??? -
Re: Directv HD vs Dish and Comcast
I have to agree. I had cable up until I moved in November. My new twn doesnt offer any cable, so my only option was dish.
The HD quality on dish is alot better than cable. I have a samsung DLP 720p/1080i tv and the picture will amaze you. My friends all have plasma TVs they bought for 3k, and they all say the HD quality of directTV is alot better.Comment

Re: Directv HD vs Dish and Comcast
Dish compresses their HD a lot more than DTV because they don't have the bandwidth that DTV has. Comcast is comparable depending on where you live, ie big city, otherwise it usually is lacking.
Also I would request a SWM (Swim) install. Only 1 line is needed for each DVR. Read up here, www.dbstalk.com, they have some great FAQ and can help with the hassle that the install can sometimes create.Last edited by p_rushing; 06-29-2009, 01:36 PM.Comment
