All of the critics seem to have loved it also. Most of my friends really liked it too. I think the main difference between my friends and I is that they went into it wanting a fun xmas episode, while I wanted a fun community episode. As an xmas episode, I think it was really good.

It's the same thing as the episode before this one, people who just wanted a funny Community episode hated it as it wasn't that funny. But those who went into it not expecting anything found an amazing character driven episode that just happened to be in 'community's universe.'

Both episodes were funny to me, but the stories were also both character driven instead of the typical themed episode.

I loved Troy's birthday episode, so my issue isn't with character-driven ones.

My issue is with the claymation, it looked dumb and was distracting. If it was just a "regular" (live-action) episode like normal I would have loved it.

Without claymation there is no reason for the episode and I don't see how it works without it.

I thought the clay-mation worked in favor of the episode. It was a really good episode too.

And considering all the great one-liners in this show's history, that's impressive.
