Thanks, man. Great article that illustrates why I said this episode was arguably the best of the series thus far.

The fact that each scenario could have played out due to a simple die roll fascinated me. It gave us, the viewer, the distinct advantage of seeing different sides of each character that they have not yet revealed to one another in the "real timeline". This episode gave each individual character, multiple pairings, and the group dynamic as a whole much more depth.

Regardless of what actually happened, the motivation for those other scenarios lies within each character from Pierce resenting Troy and Abed, Jeff feeling threatened by Troy, Shirley feeling outcasted, Troy and Britta having budding feelings for one another and sharing a mutual annoyance with Jeff, and yes, even Troy and Abed becoming evil. The show highlighted the true fragility of the group.

As for the article, I loved the breakdown of the picture. That was a cool little thing I never noticed. I know people are high on Modern Family's writers, and I love the show too, but if I could only choose one, I'd pick Community every time.

      Re: Community

I think Community is written just as well as Modern Family as far as characters, interactions, and stories go, but I think Community's creativity and boundary pushing is unparalled right now.

Modern Family is essentially a traditional sit-com that is filmed in a "reality tv" style whereas Community is similar, but could also be classified as a live-action cartoon.

Abed was just hilarious period last night. The subtle "pew, pew, pew" during Troy's story got me.

It's amazing how each story really hit on the character's insecurities and overall feeling of the members of the group. The writing in this show is just top-notch.

I wasn't a fan of last night's episode, but anything would be a letdown compared to the week prior. Plus my expectations were high due to it being a Halloween episode.

I really liked the end though, It gives weight to the theory that despite veing viewed as a weird outcast by his peers, Abed is in fact the sane one of the group as he perceives reality as it truly is (i.e. they are characters on a TV show).

They've been hinting at this type of thing a lot lately.

The multiple realities episode really drove it home that Jeff, the perceived normal one, is really the cause of all the chaos in that group. The one reality where he leaves and everyone's so happy they start dancing.

It seems like he invents chaos (sometimes) just so he can save the day; though, most of the time its the group that drives itself into chaos. I suppose an argument could be made that ultimately Jeff is still the one responsible since he not only organized this study group, but is usually the one to point out other character's faults first.

Loved that episode last night! I think my favorite part was when during Abed's story he was humming the whole song that was playing on the radio, and everyone in the group was staring at him except for Troy, who was kind of dancing.

So uh... why did I wait so long to catch up? This show is so hilarious it's not even funny.

Favorite character by FAR is Troy. The way he freaks out is just terrific. I spent a good part of the night watching this on repeat, dying from laughter.

Helps that I've enjoyed Donald Glover since he was part of Derrick Comedy.
