Re: Community
I've seen people spinning it as a positive. That maybe they're actually going to market the show now and maybe not air it on Fridays as they originally planned.
The problem is that I was hoping that expectations on a Friday would be low enough that they'd get another season out of it.Member: OS Uni Snob Association | Twitter: @MyNameIsJesseG | #WT4M | #WatchTheWorldBurn

Re: Community
I doubt it.
They haven't marketed the show yet why would they do it in the last season? The article I read the news in said it could possibly be to free up more money to promote NBC's newer shows.

Might be worth it on their end to see if they can build even a modest audience with what they have instead of trying to develop another new comedy.Comment

Re: Community
Apparently the new show-runners are running into the same problems Harmon was with the NBC suits trying to change things.
I hate NBC now I seriously do.

Re: Community
I'm actually not all that surprised by that. Parks & Rec is a network executive's dream. It's actually funny, it's got likeable characters that the public can identify with and it's consistently the most positive and upbeat show on television, and it's likely not all that expensive to make.
It's everything that suits tend to think results in a hit television show. And still nobody's watching it. Which is a damn tragedy. If any of these great NBC comedies were on ABC they'd all be legitimate hits.Member: OS Uni Snob Association | Twitter: @MyNameIsJesseG | #WT4M | #WatchTheWorldBurn

Re: Community
NBC has made it clear they have no idea how to market anything. You'd think there would be a lot more advertising push for Community online and across social sites considering the demographic of the show, but I doubt they're up to speed.

Re: Community
Absolutely. It's a testament to them that they managed to take a sitcom starring a comedian that people seemed to actually like (Whitney) and shove it down America's throat so much that the entire country hated her and her show before it ever debuted.
Now, it doesn't help them that the show is awful, but the point stands.
They overmarket the wrong things, undermarket the things that could actually be hits for them.
And going back to Parks, why was that show ever moved out of the post-Office timeslot? They're basically sister shows. If you they had not moved Parks all around their Thursday night schedule and just kept it in that post-Office slot consistently for a couple years, they could have built an audience.
Same goes for Community. The best ratings Community's ever gotten were when it was in that post-Office timeslot for the first 6 episodes or whatever of the series. It's been hell ever since they moved it for no reason.
Instead of leaving either show there to build that audience, they've made it a weird revolving door.Member: OS Uni Snob Association | Twitter: @MyNameIsJesseG | #WT4M | #WatchTheWorldBurn

Re: Community
Its hard to muster ratings when the lead in is/was a new show with a pretty obscure take on situational comedy.
