    PC Graphics Card Question

So here is the deal guys, I have a laptop that is about 7 years old. I've upgraded the RAM (to 1GB) but cannot update the graphics card because it is soldered to the motherboard.

I really want to get the new Monkey Island game that is coming out tomorrow but it requires a 64mb graphics card, mine is only 32mb (old I know!). I have two slots on the side of my computer, 1 is for a wireless internet card. I don't think I could plug a video card in the other, correct?

My question is this: Could I hook up my computer to my HDTV and play the game? The computer meets all of the requirements for the game, except video. I am assuming that the TV has at least a 64mb video card, if they even use them.

    Whaddya think?

I know absolutely nothing about adding on a laptop video card, but I do know that unless your laptop has a 64mb card the game will not run. Computers when hooking to monitors/tv's just export the picture, they don't use the tv/monitor for any processing/video card type stuff.

I don't know if it's possible to upgrade the vid card on a laptop that old, but your tv won't solve your problems.

Do you have a desktop that's newer that your laptop?

Any desktop made since then will have more graphics capabilities than your laptop.

No my wife and I each have a laptop. Her laptop has a graphics card that meets the requirements but not enough RAM. Vice-a-versa for me. Just wish that there was a way to upgrade this laptop!

It should be possible to upgrade the RAM way way easier...laptops are meant to do that...could be worth looking into perhaps.
