I don't understand why Nickleback isn't on every list. I got their first cd when it first came out, loved it, heard their second cd, and checked to make sure it wasn't their first CD.

Because for some people, a band making the same song over and over again isn't enough to elicit hate. Funny, I'd never put a disposable, forgettable band like Nickelback on my hate list, but you clearly liked them a lot at one point when I never cared for them one way or another.

Actually, I take that back. Putting on "Hero" while playing a Spiderman game is a nice source of cheesy joy for me So I have to give them that, lol.

But if I were to stick to the genres I like, I'd say Coldplay is becoming pretty worthless.

I agree with the Coldplay hate; i actually liked their first couple albums, but the Viva la Vida album is beyond horrible. I'd also say: Nickelback, Disney, the Black Eyed Peas, and just about all rap/hip hop.

The stuff against Kings of Leon around here, though, is understandable. Caleb's vocals aren't necessarily the most accessible thing...plus, their last album was fairly streamlined adult contemporary pop-rock compared to their "modern southern rock" sound of every album (more or less) that preceded Only By The Night. I don't care that much for their new stuff, I must admit, though some of it isn't that bad.

I love KoL up until this last album. Besides no song they ever do will be as awesome as Molly's Chambers.

Nickelback by far. However I'm not a big fan of mainstream Top 40 radio in general. One of my friends was playing the new 3OH3 song the other day, I had no idea what the band or the song was and she gave me a dirty look. I responded with a, "sorry, Pandora and my iPod are my 'Top 40 Radio'."

Calebs vocals are much more soulful now than they ever were on the groups first two cds. Anyways, I got nothing but respect for a group like KOL. People are gonna dislike groups for various reasons, oh well.

I loved Because Of The Times, though, don't get me wrong. Their first two CD's were excellent but I spent the most time listening to BOTT. Many fans complained about the album but I felt it started to make their music substantial. In my opinion, however, their new album goes almost too far...it tries to appeal to the pop audience. It's almost like a Goo Goo Dolls type sound (not that there's anything wrong with that, the Buffalonian in me says) instead of the more atmospheric, U2-esque sound they were trying to push on BOTT.

I really can't say I know what to expect on their next record. Probably more of the same chart-ready stuff they made on Only By The Night, now that they're officially huge in the UK mainstream and slowly becoming viable in the US.

For both Reggae and Ska, I don't like the beat, don't like the sound of the singers, don't like the mood and don't like the sound of the instruments. It literally makes me unhappy to hear reggae and to a slightly lesser degree, ska.

Hm. Reggae and ska have the exact opposite effect on me. Can't help but feel happy and dance when I hear them. To each his own I guess...

Yeah, Aha Shake Heartbreak is one of my favorite albums front to back. I'm not as big a fan of their newer stuff, but it is still listenable.

Agree with the reggae wholeheartedly for the same reasons. I don't care for Ska either, more of a pure punk guy.
