I actually like this new one a lot. Upon my first listen, I was a bit disappointed and then listened to the album a few more times and I think its really good. He has a lot of talent and I am glad he is one of the American Idol alumni to actually do very well. Imo, this is not average but another great album but a little bit of a different direction with a few songs.Comment

The second one is better. The first one has some very bad songs, actually. In fact, there are maybe five listenable songs on that (It's Not Over isn't even on that list, though it's decent but simply overplayed).
There aren't any songs yet that I really want to skip, but I think Ghost of Me and Supernatural will be two of them soon. Daughtry need to try and develop more of the own sound and drop the whole wanna be Nickelbush act. The guy is definately talented, I just wish he would use it better, instead cashing in on the Nickelbush sound.Comment

Problem is, I think I heard Chad Kroeger background singing for a couple of these songs. It may just be me, but it didn't sound like a voice duplicate or his own background singers at times.
Plus, Chris Daughtry also did background singing for Theory of a Deadman in the song By the Way. They tour together and Chris really like their sound. So do I. I like Nickelback. I like No surprise. Haven't heard anything else yet. I must be the only one that like Nickelback. But oh well. I will say this I have been to almost every rock concert you could think of and Creed was the best I have ever been too. I have been back stage to for many rock bands too and party with a lot of rockers in my 38 years of living. Thanks to an older brother who was in the rock scenes in the 80's. RIP BRO! Any ways I like their sound. I will always be a rocker but I do like this kind of rock too.Comment

That's fine, there is nothing wrong with having influences and all, but it would be nice if it wasn't so obvious. I mean surely he has to have more influences than that. Try to blend the sounds together or something. Don't just clone one group at a time. This is something STP got nailed hard for when they first came out. They sounded like Alice In Chains or Nirvana, or some other grunge act, instead of having more of their own sound. Lucky for the fans and the group they developed that later. Hopefully Daughtry will do the same. Like maybe after he gets out from under the shadow of American Idol.Comment

I liked Nickeback until their last two cds. After that, they just grew old to me. Same with 3 Doors Down. I've liked them for quite a while too. They can write some good songs, but much like Nickelback they all sound too similar. Funny thing is, groups like these guys and AC/DC, all sell ALOT of cds. Maybe it's more sad than funny

3 Doors Down does not sound like Nickelback. I'll just throw that out there now because 3DD is my favorite band, and Nickelback ain't near that (though, like you, I've liked their older songs sans Far Away on All the Right Reasons).I liked Nickeback until their last two cds. I don't know I think all bands sound the same. Do they really change their sound every album? Maybe some, but I think the it is the record companies. They don't want them to change what makes them money. Who knows. My friends is Bille's brother and we talk a little about this. He said the record companies put a lot of pressure on the bands to not try things different. In Green Day case it is a little different they have a huge following so Billie has a little more freedom. Though Billie did say it is a trip when he has these record company meetings, because they are only there to make money off him. Plus getting this CD out was so freaking stressful. I can't relate to that, but I bet it would be stressful! I think band want to try new things, but blame the record companies. Again this is all opinion.I liked Nickeback until their last two cds. To you they aren't, but they all have that same sound. I think you can say Peal Jam had a big influence, you can even say they stole their sound, but I think you can say that Peal Jam stole the Doors sound. So I think it is what it is!
Not the music sound of the Doors but the vocals sound a lot like Jim.
