Setanta-i

Anyone got it? The few reviews I've read seem pretty positive, especially about the picture quality, but I'm concerned about how much programming I actually get with it. I'm primary interested in the EPL, but I watch other things too, and I can't get a clear picture of just what comes on it and what doesn't vs. the actual Setanta channel. Everything says 'some', which doesn't really narrow it down...

Comcast doesn't carry Setanta around here, and I was thinking about switching to DirecTV, but this seems like it might be a good alternative. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance.

I'm guessing the I is for international....

Setanta is going through some major problems right now. I think I read somewhere that they may lose their EPL contract.

I know not much help but thought i'd throw that in. They do tend to show a ton of rugby and aussie rules football from what i've seen of the main channel. I'm sure the international version is the same.

Setanta-i is actually the replacement for the old Setanta Broadband (which was pretty bad according to everything I read, never had it though); lets me watch Euro sports on my PC.

Yes, Setanta UK did default on their payments to the EPL and SPL, and they are in administration as of a month or so ago. I believe, however, that Setanta North America is secure with its EPL rights for at least one more season, so the rights there are fine to the best of my knowledge.

That said, I'm not signing any 10 year deals with them any time soon...
