Re: The Howard Stern Show Thread

what's the guy's name from back in the day with the huge black bags under his eyes, he's fat and looks like a chronic masterbator lol. I think he was one of the producers, he had a headset and would bring guests in etc...and sometimes howards would get so angry with him on air and tell him he was crappy at his job on air. lol

I loved HS, but since he went to sirius I haven't heard him once or seen any shows because I don't have the means to. I love it all though, the crazy guests, the 'evaluations' damn.

I did hear an interview a few months ago where he had the ghetto preacher on the line, but it was anti-climactic.

Jackie was a huge part of the show as a behind-the-scenes bit and joke writer.
In fact, Stern had a button on his console that would buzz Jackie for a joke if he was dying.
Lots of Stern's "spontaneous" jokes were written by Jackie and I assume Artie helped with it as well.

EDIT: One of my favorite all-time lines from the Stern show was when Cory Feldman came into studio with his former wife. When someone asked how old she was, and Cory revealed she was only 18, Artie remarked "She was just being born when your career died".
Feldman did not find this funny whatsoever. Hahahaha!

Yeah, guys like Benji, Sal etc... still feed Howard jokes...

That's a funny line about Feldman.

I never had heard the show until the E! Show started coming on nightly and I was friggin' hooked. I was around 13 at the time and I had never saw or heard anything like it.
Guys like Stuttering John, KC, the Wack Pack etc were just golden.

I know a lot of people disliked Artie in the chair, but he was great to me. I laughed all the time with him around, since he has left (i had stopped listening for a while as well) I don't find the show hardly funny at all. The guests are horrible, hardly any wack packers around anymore... just not much going on.

I still am entertained by it, but it's not like it used to be. in 2011 they need to get another comedian in the chair. They could have a different person sit in the chair like they did when Jackie left.. just get some fresh blood in there or bring Artie back, which I doubt will happen.

Yeah after listening for all of last year, I've stopped because I'm waiting for them to find someone to replace Artie. Personally I thought Artie was gold and would love to see him back, I just don't think he can do it and remain clean and sober.

It'll be interesting to see who/if they decide to bring on. It might make me jump back on board on a consistent basis.

I'm glad to see Stern stick around. He does the best celeb interviews. His recent interview with Jay Z was outstanding. I miss Artie though. The segments with the whores are always more funny when Artie's around.

The show was at its best during the 90s with Jackie, Billy West , Stuttering John, Steve Grillo, Ralph and KC. Thanks to YouTube, you young guys can hear classic Stern. I have @ 20 years of tapes I made from the WABC/K-Rock days.

I think Howard is a genius. I loved watching his shows on E, I'm still pissed they got rid of him. I did hear what a lot of you are saying since his switch to Satellite, that his shows are mostly reruns of past stuff. That's kind of disappointing, but you can't deny the man's influence. He outright said, pay me this money and I will deliver the subscribers, and he did. He's one of the single most influential media creations in history.

I was cracking up today when they were talking about Glenn Beck and the food storage. Just hilarious.

The History of Howard Stern Act IV (I believe) starts on Monday. It's the years of 96-2001.

If you haven't listened to any of the History of Howard Stern and you enjoy the show, do yourself a favor and go back and listen to them all. They are great!

I'm disappointed Stern has cut back to 3 days a week but 3 days a week of Stern is better than no Stern.

I think he's the best interviewer in the business.

His Brett Ratner interview today was really interesting. Jonah Hill is my favorite interview of the year. I'm a huge Coldplay fan so I can't wait until Chris Martin comes in on Wednesday (I didn't think he would do the show).

I wish more female celebs would come on the show though.
