By the end of the season there will be no one left alive. From the previews for next week, it appears Ben will be killed off next week. I'm a little dissappointed that so many characters have been killed off during the series. Then again, isn't this what the MIB said at the beach? "They come, they kill...".

I find it interesting that in the LA X universe the Losties remain true to their "core". Their live have changed somewhat, but Sayid remains a killer at his core. No matter how hard he tried in either reality to leave his past behind, he cannot escape who he is. Maybe this has something to do with the whole "balance" theme.

Dogen not killing Sayid after he noticed baseball was meant to say that he could not kill anyone because of the guilt over his own son. Then again, he has no problem getting others to try and kill for him. Little confused by that. Seems that the Others have each been a confusing mixture of both good and bad.

Locke ends up as the new MIB, Jack as the new Jacob. Everyone else on the island ends up dead. The scene on the beach is repeated, but this time with John and Jack sitting there as another boat comes in or another plane crashes down. They could even go back to the "real world" and visit a young Aaron kinda like Richard did with John Locke.

In some fashion I think the series will end with somr sort of "the cycle continues...".

I would agree but Locke is dead. SMokie is only assuming his identity.
Substitue Locke with Sawyer and I think you'd be more right.

Speaking of Sawyer:

I am thinking Sawyer has a plan on how to defeat this nemesis and save everyone else, thus being the hero he has always tried to be.

I was thinking the same thing until last nights episode. If anything, there have been too many clues throughout 5.5 seasons that only prove that 'you are what you are'.
There's no changing your stripes.
Sawyer has tried to be good but in the end, much like Sayid, I see him turning to the darkside.
The only thing that might stop this is that he hasn't been infected with the sickness like Sayid and Claire were.

And man, I know I shouldn't be so attached to fictional TV characters, but I was bummed when Sayid turned. I liked him.

Anyone catch " The Village" on amc last year with Jim Cavezial and In McClellan? if you did I have a feeling it could end similar to that fashion.

To level set, we have MiB, Sayid, Claire, Sawyer?, Jin?, Kate?, and a bunch of dirty people against Jack, Hurley, Iliana, Sun, Lapidis, and Ben. Right?

On another note, I'm still curious to see how Charles Widmore plays out in all of this. He's got to be making a return sooner or later. My gut tells me he is on the MiB's side, but Widmore was doing everything he could to get John Locke back onto the island...alive. He told John there was a war coming and if he didn't get back to the island, the wrong side was going to win.

I was just thinking of Widemore last episode wondering where he fits in.
But who knows what side Widemore is on? He wasn't in the same line of thinking as Ben or Richard. And he had a falling out with his wife (who seemed like a good guy).
Maybe he wanted Locke back on the island so the dark side was going to win?
And wasn't Miles hired by Widemore to go on that ship of mercenaries? Iliana was on Jacob's side and they intercepted Miles and told him not to join because he was joining the bad side.

The lines certainly appear to be blurry - much like the "Lost" sign in the beginning. DUM-DUM-DUM!!!

I thought the past couple of episodes have been pretty meh but last nights episode was outstanding.

At this point I don't know where the show is heading. I think there's going to be some huge twists before the series is done. I feel like Ben's character has been marginalized this season so I hope he plays a bigger role in the grand scheme of things.

Terry O'Quinn deserves another Emmy nomination.

Yeah Ben was absolutely petrified after Sayid's comments and seeing what he had done. Ben is usually a manipulator while trying to get someone to do what he wants, but it was like he didn't even think twice as he didn't even turn around as he backed out of the spring room. The only other time I think I've seen Ben that scared were his two run-ins with the smoke monster (appearing with the flashes of Alex and when it appeared after he killed Jacob).

I don't think so YP. In addition, Jack didn't have any significant acting role in this episode, but he did show up. He was the doctor walking towards Sayid when he went to the hospital after the attack on Omer.
