Ex-Am Idol contestant calls show fixed

It will be interesting to see if others speak out now that Ju'Not has broken the silence.Comment

Re: Ex-Am Idol contestant calls show fixed
I definitely believe that. Back in college my friend went to one of the local auditions.... The guy was an awesome singer: trained since childhood, wrote his own music, had a job using his singing voice on the radio/tv and all that... This is the type of guy would walk down the dorm halls singing and the ladies would swoon. haha
But anyways, after the audition he tells us that the on site producer said something to the effect of "You're a great singer, but you're not what we're looking for."
So they're not just looking for "great singers", but I assumed that they wanted those who have a unique story of some kind... Which is what this article kind of confirms, at least for us.Comment

They pretty much have their pick of any unsigned singer in the country. If you can find 1,000 people who sing at the same level, you have the choice to take the more interesting and attractive people.
More importantly, is his name really Ju'Not? That's like a real life HeHateMeLast edited by Cebby; 07-30-2009, 10:34 AM.Comment

Re: Ex-Am Idol contestant calls show fixed
I don't watch this show, but I saw this article on Yahoo this morning. It was interesting that a contestant actually spoke out. Most reality shows are this way. The producers have to get the viewers to continue to watch for ratings. Even Bravo's Top Chef, if anyone watches, always has a antagonist making it very deep if not into the finals. It makes for a more watchable, drama filled show. As much as the public thinks they are making the vote, I am sure the producers have some final say in it and need to go with the more marketable personalities.Comment

Breaking News: Water is wet and the Sky is Blue
I liked Ju-Not but he obviously doesn't understand how showbiz works. He's just bitter he didn't make it into the Top 13. You don't see Adam, Kris, Danny, etc... complaining.
I'm sure his "blast" has nothing to do with the fact he has a record coming out in a couple of months right?Comment

That's why there's no real reason to watch the show, you already know who's going to get in and you have a pretty good idea of how far certain people will go.Originally posted by BlzerLet me assure you that I am a huge proponent of size, and it greatly matters. Don't ever let anyone tell you otherwise.
If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)Comment

Daughtry was easily the most "sure thing" for a superstar in Idol's history and he was like the third or fourth runner up.Comment

Re: Ex-Am Idol contestant calls show fixed
In his Top 36 performance he blew away that Puerto Rican and Scott the blind talentless hack, but didn't get voted through in favor of them. Then he didn't get put on the wild card show despite having out performed, well everyone else who did. What he says has some validity in my opinion. I've believed this show has been fixed for a while, which was disgustingly proved this year when Kris Allen 'won'.
While watching So You Think You Can Dance (same producers), I caught an interesting piece of legalese in the credits, which was something to the effect that the producers of the show reserve the right to remove any votes they believe to have been entered to unfairly alter the results, such as using power dialing devices. Read between the lines on that, basically they are admitting to reserving the right to alter the results as they see fit under the guise of fairness. I guarantee if you look Idol has the same disclaimer in its credits. So basically the show open admits it can play with the results, which probably explains why the results of the voting are never made public. If this show was the legitimate competition it pretends to be there would be no harm in releasing those numbers after the fact.
Just reading through the comments in that article, it's clear Idol has it's blind followers who will never question the the show whom will instantly dismiss anyone who questions it. It really is scary how stupid the average American really is sometimes.....Comment

"Winning and elimination decisions were made by the judges in consultation with producers. Some elimination decisions were discussed with Bravo."
Take it for what it is. I still enjoy the show.Comment
