She actually looks like a decent looking girl in those close ups in the Bad Romance video. Weird. Then again, considering what the editor did with her eyes in some of those clips, who knows what was done to make her look somewhat attractive.

But to answer the question, I think it's just an image, a brand she's obviously done a great job of promoting. I really don't think she's that crazy. I think she just enjoys being that crazy and its also made her one of the top entertainers of the past year.

I think she's just wearing colored contacts.

In the one picture she looks really bad in she's standing with an absolute dead expression on her face. Anyone will look bad like that. She's fairly attractive when properly made up and not in Jersey/New York makeup.

Really? Hmm, this is interesting to me now because she recently was on television talking about how she says that "Growing up in Yonkers" is a rumor and her least favorite.

Why would anyone really want to say they didn't come from Yonkers? I would think she should be proud that she got out and made herself the star she is. Everyone is from NYC. I don't care anymore if you're from NYC. There's nothing amazing about it anymore especially if you're a musician.

If I made it in film, I wouldn't make "coming from NY" a surprising revelation. Like big deal, another person that made it in the industry from NY. Whoop dee doo.

But yeah, right now she's making crazy amounts of cash and gets much more attention doing her Lady Gaga routine. She even trolled the internet and tabloid media with rumors about having a penis. Main stream music is always a huge act. Always has been. I just look at them as actors and they are just acting. I am sure in the personal life, mainstream sings are not like they are on stage.

I bet it would be fun to be a mainstream star like that. sure their music most of the time sucks, but they are getting paid and are able to act a fool and just have fun with it.

It's not like the industry is flooded with milli vanilli type acts, as talented people are actually doing mainstream music. Many just chose to go with the flow and make money. The old videos people have dug up of her actually singing show that she does have real vocal and songwriting talent, she just made the wiser decision to make stacks of cash right now.

Lady Gaga is a talented musician. She's taking the easy money route right now, and makes dance music with catchy hooks.

As pop music goes, I find her stuff much more tolerable than all of the ex-American Idolers crap and mush mouth/autotune hip-hop that makes up most of the rest of the charts.
