    LG 26" 720p LCD HDTV

I got a LG 26" 720p LCD HDTV from Future Shop today. I still haven't connected it to anything since I don't have cables yet and no HD source, but I think it's a decent TV. I understand it supports 720P and not 1080P, which doesn't really matter to me.
Does anyone have it and can share some thoughts? Do you enjoy it? any complaints?

    Thanks!
    My Specs:

    ZX Spectrum
    CPU: Z80 @ 3.5 MHz
    GPU: Monochrome display
    RAM: 48 KB
    OS: Sinclair BASIC

Won't matter with a TV that small, unless your going to sit with your nose brushing up against the screen.

26" is more than enough for me. I never really understood the "Buy a HUGE TV" mentality. But that's me...

I looked it up. Sure you've got enough inputs?

http://www.futureshop.ca/catalog/pro...0121806&catid= That's it right? Though it says it supports downscaled 1080p so maybe that's not it.

For $450 you can find a lot bigger and the same quality at that same price.

          Even on amazon it's a lot cheaper - http://www.amazon.com/LG-26LH20-26-I.../dp/B001V5J7QG
I don't know how the money going from canada to U.S. works though.

Well, I don't buy stuff on the internet, or at least rarely, so Amazon or any other site isn't an option for me. I just wanted a known brand and decent TV. For now I don't have any HD source so it won't really matter, but maybe in a few months I'll buy a PS3 so then I'll be able to take advantage of it.
I saw cheaper TV's but by unknown names, and I prefered buying a brand that I know and that has good reputation.
@ goh, yeah, that's the one. And 720p is good enough for me.

Not sure if it's like this in Canada, but in the U.S. you can hook an antenna up to your HDTV and receive a signal that will show stuff in HD.

Never heard of that...do you have any more details? Is it something common/legal or?

Well there is a difference, but not so much of a difference between 1080p input and 720p as there is between a 1080p TV and a 720p TV, if that makes sense.

If there are two TVs of the same brand and model with its only name difference being the different native resolutions, you can bet that the 1080p TV will have better overall specs. Black levels, contrast ratio, color range... whatever it is. Overall, even your 1080p TV will look better in 720p than your 720p TV will look in 720p.

Hope that makes sense. So it's not necessarily all about the resolution (though games and movies that take advantage of it do look marginally better, even at 26"), but the actual TV itself.

OK, I understand...I think. Anyway, it's my first ever HDTV, so I haven't really experienced HD stuff at home yet. Eh...I'm too old for that...

Don't know how tv works in Canada..would imagine it's the same. All you have to do is attach the same antenna you would have used for those old analog tvs to your HDTV. You can then get HD channels over the air (FREE).

I dropped cable about 4 years ago and only get HD stuff from over the air and through HD-DVDs, blu rays.

                        Yes.

In America all the signals are digital which allows those with HDTVs to have over the air HD Channels.

That's cool. I need to check what's going on here...

Only now I realized that I had "or?" at the end of the sentence. I have no idea what I meant...LOL.
