George A. Romero's Survival of the Dead

Since we got kicked in the nuts last time we posted the video, we'd like to send you over to the Fantastic Fest page for George A. Romero's Survival of

This looks bad, but I'll still check it out.

With the world premiere only a month away, a whopping 26 images were released from George A. Romero's Survival of the Dead (promo trailer), his latest zombie pic that involves inhabitants of an isolated island off the North American coast who find their relatives rising from the dead to eat their kin. The leaders of the island feud over whether or not to kill their reanimated relatives or preserve them in hopes of finding a cure. You can check out all of the new images below.

On a small island off North America's coast, the dead rise to menace the living. Yet...the islanders can't bring themselves to exterminate their loved ones, despite the growing danger from those the once held dear. A rebel among them hunts down all the zombies he can find, only to be banished from the island for assassinating his neighbors and friends. On the mainland, bent on revenge, he encounters a small band of survivors in search of an oasis on which to build a new life. Barely surviving an attack from a mass of ravenous flesh-eaters. They commandeer a zombie-infested ferry and sail to the island. There, to their horror, they discover that the locals have chained the dead inside their homes, pretending to live 'normal' lives...with bloody consequences. What ensues is a desperate struggle for survival and the answer to a question never posed in Romero's Dead films: Can the living ever live in peace with the dead?

This looks ultra low budget bad.............I love his films, but I fear on this one. Even the acting looks very very bad.

LOL I don't know. For some reason I've never really gotten into Romero's films...I know they're well done and all, but just never hooked me.

I like zombi films in general so I'll give it a shot when I bump into it somewhere but I'm not marking it on my calender or anything

I love Night and Dawn, but the last 3 have been pure crap to me. To much of a "message" in them.

Screw the message. You watch them for the zombies!

Though i do agree the last 2 or 3 flicks have been a little suspect. I don't mind a story being told, but the whole "the theme reflects the times we are living in" becomes old hat.

I wish Romero would be less against the 'angry' zombie and introduce them into his films (Loved the dawn of the dead 2004 remake).

Man, I'm a big fan of Night, Dawn, and even Day of the Dead. Romero started it all and I'm a HUGE zombie fan. But his latest zombie efforts have been pretty mediocre. Can't say I'm looking forward to this.

Which is sad. 15 years ago I never thought I'd be saying I wasn't looking forward to a new Romero zombie movie.

Suspect? Day and Diary were far and away two of the worst movies I have ever seen. Survival? No thanks.

Yeah...I respect what he's done, but I guess I prefer more like the 2004 remake, that was awesome and a nice modernization...

Even Night and Dawn had blatant messages in them.

I thought Day was alright, as well as Land. Diary was 'meh', so it might be a case of just running out of ideas. I personally think there are much worse movies out there; but i do agree that I am not looking forward to survival. It'll be a rental for me.

                            Haven't seen Diary yet.

I tend to wait for cable/in demand for horror film due to morons in the theatre acting like asshats. I don't know what it is about horror but patrons just get stupid round here yelling their own jokes out and chicks screaming when nothing has happened yet.

So where did Diary veer off course,( in the opinion of those who think it did) ?

My bad bro, I meant Land instead of Day. I can't remember which one Day was...

That 2004 remake was a heck of zombie movie however.
