    Blockbuster vs. Netflix: Let's settle this

    I realize RedBox is getting popular, but this is considering 2 companies with similar services in the way they deliver movies.

    Let's settle it.

    Which service do you prefer considering what you're paying for and what you're getting in the overall package.

      Not only do we get movies in the mail, but we also get to stream movies via the 360.. Gotta love Netflix...

          Never used Netflix, but I just started a trial of Blockbuster Total Access. I like the fact that you can exchange in store, and they are supposed to be adding video games later this year.

                      Netflix has instant watch.

                      Blockbuster has in-store exchanges.

                      I think it's a wash. One is not better than the other. It just depends on what you want.

                      I don't use my 360 online so Netflix's best offer doesn't help me. I have enough Blockbusters in NYC that it makes sense to use their in-store exchanges.

                      Shipping is relatively the same from what I gathered from people. It takes 1-3 days depending on several factors and it's true for either service.

                      Pricing is not much different for either as well. I think Blockbuster might have more (as in total) expensive plans that give you more options, but their pricing model is pretty much the same as Netflix's.

                      Both offer many movies, though my understanding is that Netflix has more foreign films. If you have in-store exchanges, then you have more DVDs to choose from with Blockbuster. Again, depends on what you're looking for in my opinion.

                          Blockbuster also has free Blu-Ray, which Netflix charges extra for.

                              I've had both. I currently have Netflix and am happy with it. Even though Blockbuster limits the in-store exchanges, I think both are pretty even.

                                          Wow...I was not aware you could stream movies through netflix using a game console. Can you do it with the PS3?

                                                          I would choose it because it's my choice of company, but I don't think either one is better than the other.
