      LOLOLOLOL

He had a distinctive voice... if Eddie Vedder never existed... and every crappy faux-hard rock band that came after them didn't sound exactly like Scott Stapp. Hilarious.

Macy Gray definitely fits... can't mistake her for anyone else.

Yes. You hear a song from Creed and you know that it's them because of his singing. This isn't a discussion about positive or negative distinction (I don't like the voices for any of the three singers I mentioned), but it's distinctive nonetheless.

I was going to say Eddie Vedder as well, who Stapp has a similar voice as... but they're both very distinguishable from one another.

EDIT: No one else sounds like Stapp. Most people have a different kind of 'voice,' it's more like people that sound like Tyler Connolly.

Glad to see you guys could pick me out of a crowd, though. I never figured this was a thread to point out the great singers of history, but rather the ones that when you hear their voice for three seconds you know who the singer/band is, regardless of the song. These three fit the profile.

No, I hear a song from Creed and I wish I was deaf. I know it's instantly them by the suck coming out of the speakers

Chris Martin. No one is more melodic than Chris Martin, and the guy has amazing range. You might not like Coldplay, but you at least got to respect the voice.

Caleb Followill of Kings of Leon has a pretty distinctive/soulful voice.

Chris Cornell of Soundgarden is another.

...But probably the most distinctive voice ever is Marvin Gaye.

Scott Stapp is distinctive because he sounds like he is trying to rip off Eddie Vedder's voice, but Blzer is right that when Stapp opens his douche-bag mouth and sings you know its him.

I think that Scott Stapp is trying to rip off the Vedder voice but he does sound slighty different. Not very much though.
