    Re: Dexter (Season 4)

One question on the family identifying Dexter...

Why would they see him after he reports Rita's death? There is no way Dexter would let himself go on television about the situation, there is no way the FBI or Miami Metro would make him give a public interview, etc.

He could report the killing, deal with the FBI's questioning of why the killer would go after him, deal with Batista if he remembers seeing Trinity confront Dexter....but he never has to deal with Trinity's family, especially if they move away and all that, so I don't see how that is a stumbling block.

Debra will be there to help.

I bet a lot of the department will be there to help.

Longhorn - because usually it's not too hard for the media to get pics of a victims husband or wife, especially if they are a suspect, which Dexter would be. He wouldn't have to go on tv voluntarily but i'm sure that the media would publish a picture at some point considering his unique situation.

Lithgow gets the expected Supporting Actor Golden Globe Nom. "Dexter" and Michael C Hall also get nominations for their respective categories.

Supporting Actor, Series, Miniseries or Movie: Michael Emerson, "Lost"; Neil Patrick Harris, "How I Met Your Mother"; William Hurt, "Damages"; John Lithgow, "Dexter"; Jeremy Piven, "Entourage."

Honestly it shouldnt even be up for debate as Lithgow should win that one running away.

I just ordered Showtime to watch all the S4 epi's on Demand. I usually wait for these to release on Blu-ray, but can't wait till next summer for a release. I heard the final episode is insane, so I can't wait to see what happens.

You would think. The award seems to favor the "non comedy" performance so Harris and Piven are at an immediate disadvantage. I will be as shocked as I was when I saw Rita in the bathtub if Lithgow doesn't win.

I don't blame you. Can't you watch the On Demand's in HD?

Yeah, Dexter is On Demand in HD.

And the last 4 episodes are probably one of the best 4-episode stretches of any TV show I've ever watched.

when ya'll think about it, this is probably the most ****ed up series ever on TV. I mean it is a brutal subject matter. I thought I was in the minority when this show first came out and that I would be one of the only ones to like this twisted show. I didnt think it would last 5 seasons, but alas it's in the mainstream and is probably the most popular series on TV.

You and me both, I didn't think it would last past season one and honestly I thought i was the only one watching it.

But as for it being sick/twisted...um have you ever seen The Shield? That's a pretty sick show, probably more sick than this show in every way except for the murdering aspect.

Both were/are sick, twisted and brilliant. I remember Lem's death being as shocking and gut wrenching as Rita's if not more so.

I dont think its even close to the most popular series on TV. Its Showtime's most popular series but it still brings in less people then HBO's shows and most shows on national TV.

I think people find themselves rooting for Dexter because his killings are somewhat justified since his victims usually have done something bad. Is it vigilante justice, of course, but I also think a lot of people have had a thought about whether or not they could get away with murder.
