For me, easily the best show of and uneven season. Great interaction between Lois, Clark, Perry and Martha. Nice surprise at the end. Questions about the season finale:
(1) Does Clark tell Lois his secret?
(2) Are Zod and the powered Kandorians ended or will they drag this story arc on for another year as earlier rumored?
(3) Does Lex make an appearance?
(4) Will Clark fly?
(5) Will Clark sport blue red, and yellow?

No they signed up for one more season..it's already been reported.

But from the season finale end of Supernatural, that show might be gone.

CW might do some cuts, but they won't make it without Smallville.

Supernatural is back for a 6th season next year. I actually wish it would've ended last night, as it was always the intention that it would be 5 seasons, and last nights ending (minus the ending reveal) would have been a perfect way to end it.

Opening sequence of tonight's episode, had me happy like a kid. OMG!!! That music and the reflection.....

Also, I told you muthaluvers, that Lex was alive and will return. That article proves it.

Next Season we finally get Superman......I can't freak'n wait....Great Finale!

Supernatural is back for a 6th season next year. I actually wish it would've ended last night, as it was always the intention that it would be 5 seasons, and last nights ending (minus the ending reveal) would have been a perfect way to end it.

I was disappointed by Supernatural this season and the season finale just wasn't that good imo.

Opening sequence of tonight's episode, had me happy like a kid. OMG!!! That music and the reflection.....

The Season Finale reminded me a lot of earlier Smallville. The show was a lot brighter (it's been a darker show, lighting wise, in the last couple years). I also thought the pacing was better, reminiscent of earlier seasons. Then I found out the guy who directed the episode used to be a regular director, but hasn't done an episode since the 100th episode (Jonathan Kent's death). I thought it was an excellent episode.

Read that over at IGN. As much as I love this series, I am glad it is coming to an end after next season. Hopefully they try the Justice League spin off or I wouldn't mind a Green Arrow series.

I did not read the entire thread but I was wondering if the seasons of this show are good? I wanted to watch it but I only got to see like 4 episodes of it. Would it be wise for me to see season 1 or are there seasons that just arnt that good? Im just interested in starting to watch the series.

Depends. Are you a true Superman fan? The series seemed almost spot on for the first 4 seasons then after awhile you kinda got the feeling that ole Clark may never fly. It finally happened though I believe it was around season five when Clark was high on red Kryptonite. But to finish my answer I would try and get seasons 1-4. The last two seasons where pretty good as well.

My assesment.

Season 1 is pretty good. More about Clark Kent and every day life. Not too much in the way of story archs, but good character development, and Clark and Lex have great chemistry.

Season 2 is better. Several mini-archs, and Clark wanting to know more about his destiny. Some great episodes here.

Season 3 is my personal favorite. The season has some phenomenal episodes, and a great story arch through the season, without having sacrificing smaller archs. The Season finale was my favorite episode of the series until the 2 hour episode earlier this year.

Season 4 had some great episodes, but it also had some stinkers. It's really the last season that has Clark in his every-day life be any kind of focus. It has great episodes, but a lot of fill-in episodes, which becomes a theme.

Season 5 beings to get a little darker. It also has some great episodes, and the scope of the show, imo, shifts drastically half way through the season, and never really goes back. It's still a good season, imo, but there are more weaker episodes than the first 4 years.

Season 6 is the worst season, I think. There's only really 4 of 5 episodes I'd say are really good, compared to 10-15 very good episodes per season for the first few years. And the bad episodes can be very bad.

Season 7 is better than 6, but still not too great. Probably only 7 or 8 good episodes here. It started off very strong, and got off track very quickly.

Season 8 started pretty strong, and it's Feb. sweeps big episode was very good. This season is marred by what is likely the weakest Season Finale during it's 9 (so far) season run. It's premiere might be the worst as well.

I like Season 9. I thought it had a very good season arch, and it actually advanced the story of Superman more than seasons 6-8 combined. Absolute Justice is my favorite episode of the series, and I think the season finale is very good as well.

So in summary, I think the first 3 seasons are all must watch. I think seasons 4 and 5 are very good as well, though there's a few episodes you can skip in each one. You could easily just get by with a few key episodes in 6-8. Season 9 has some good stuff though.

Season 10 should be good, in theory. They should have a good premiere, and obviously the finale (which hopefully gets a two hour treatment - the network owes the show that after 10 years on CW/WB). The 5th episode of the season will also be the 200th.

Yeah, I think he'll suit up in the series finale. Like I said above, hopefully the finale gets 2 hours, and I'd love to see him suit up right at the end of hour one (or at the very end of the 2nd to last episode) and give the fans one episode of him being Superman. I think that'd be the way to go.

I personally think that he will fly before them. I think it'll be the 5th episode of the season. That will be episode #200, and I expect them to want to go all out again (and they can't kill Jonathan Kent twice). I say have him fly in that one, and for the rest of the season. I don't think you need to have him fly and become Superman in the same episode. I think that'd be a waste of the flying, as it would get overshadowed by the suit. I think it's pretty clear that when the "no flight, no tights" rule was there under the old producers, they had no idea the show would go 10 years.
