Looks like he's from The Matrix. I'd prefer red and blue, I think they could have gotten away with something with dark blue and red colors, I mean he is suppose to be the Red-Blue Blur. I hope at least that when the series is just about wrapped, we'll get a scene with him in a more traditional Superman costume.

Yeah, but we have to figure he will probably try a few different outfits before getting to the red and blue. I can't wait for tomorrow's season opener, I love this show when its "A" game is brought to the table.Comment

Man what a show I love the interactions between Clark and Jor El. And how long until they start merchandising those black S shirts I got to get me one of those.“Those who would give up essential liberty to purchase a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety.”

Re: Smallville Season 9
I'm confused on so many levels. Of course the field reporter John Corbin is Metallo, and the previews indicate a grudge of some sort against Clark, but why the games with Lois? I hope they don't mess too much with the space time continuum. I watched 2 1/2 episodes of Heroes "time travel experiment" and defiantly refused to watch another episode. What the heck is going on with an impotent General Zod and his fellow powerless worshipers? How or why is Tess connected? Clark is trying to distance himself from human relationships. Why is he contacting Lois in Red-Blue-Blur voice complete with mysterious "for your ears only" message?
I'm a fan and expect to be entertained this season, but the season premiere was all over the place.Comment

Re: Smallville Season 9
I didn't understand some of the story elements either. History has shown the Smallville writers will drag some things out forever and wrap other story lines up in 10 minutes or ignore plot holes. Who knows? How does Clark kill that girl and then have her in Zod's army at the end?
The one thing that has always bothered me about this series is the liberal use of Clark's powers. It seems like anyone can be granted Kryptonian powers or have them taken away. Way too easy for the writers to do this. Don't know why Zod and his many followers have no powers but the writers always seem to find a "loophole" for these things. And I agree with you Jaybee about time travel. It does nothing but allow writers a convenient way to rewrite stories or erase things they don't want anymore. It made Heroes very annoying at times and I don't want to see too much of this in Smallville.
The use of "Lo" to reference Lois was annoying by Chloe. Lois is hot and deserves to be called by her full name. I hope she's on every episode this year.
Overall it was a decent episode but I really hope they make this the last season of this show. Knowing this will be the last year would give it greater focus and finally get Clark to being what Clark Kent/Superman should be. I'm tired of some things dragging on (will Clark fly for crying out loud) and filler story lines.Comment

Re: Smallville Season 9
The CW's Friday premiere of "Smallville" had a 1.5/3 and nearly 2.5 million viewers, off from its Thursday numbers, but better than The CW's previous Friday totals.
Which is really all the CW wants as they use Smallville to anchor WWE Smackdown.
Old news (Aug 4th), but I never saw it:

I've heard they'd like to get another season out of it. No matter when it end I want to see the Superman in the red and blue costume. But I want one of those black S shirts“Those who would give up essential liberty to purchase a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety.”

Re: Smallville Season 9
Wow, season 9 already? Looks like it's about time I start watching this show from the pilot episode and continue on.
Is there a good reason it's losing viewers or is just the nature of a show having been on for so long?"It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace
