Pics from my new capture card

Ok, so I can't get HDMI working on the PS3 capture. I'm guessing it has something to do with HDMI copy protection, but I'm pissed that I can't capture games.

So here are my first 720p component screen grabs. Quality is pretty good.

    Looks good.
    Can you capture video?
    What are you using?

    Thanks

      Using Black Magic Intensity Pro.

It can capture HD video but at the moment I'm losing frames/stuttering. I thinkmy hard drive is struggling with it because the rest of my PC is pretty high spec.

        Okay...thanks.

One more question if you don't mind.

Let's say I want to capture some video....can you hook your PS3 directly into the card....see your game on the screen and capture the video that way?

Thanks again.(sorry to keep asking questions.....it's just that I bought a Sony recorder thinking I would be able to use it as a go between and record just what I need straight from a game...instead I have to record everything and then put it on the PC and edit out what I don't want. I'm hoping to be able to see the game as I record in order to stop....FF-REV-record on the fly)

Re: Pics from my new capture card

You can, but only through component (not hdmi due to protection)

However for such a good card, the software sucks. It only lets you choose either their specific uncompressed (MASSIVE file size) codec or motion JPEG (low quality) and the preview window during capture/gameplay etc is maybe half screen and can't get any bigger so you can't really play for real as you capture.

Re: Pics from my new capture card

I'm going to buy a new/faster hard drive next week to see if that fixes the stuttering and frame loss for video's, then I'll upload some examples

Yea, your hard drive is probably too slow. You'll need a fast HD(most likely raid0, I have a velicoraptor and I still lose frames on uncompressed video) to capture uncompressed or a fast cpu to capture BM's compressed codec.

Software is pretty limited but you can use external programs to capture.
