    Chevelle Sci-fi Crimes

What do you think of this album? I like Chevelle but I'm not really feeling this album. I thought the song "Circus" and "Sleep Apnea" was alright but didn't really care for the rest. I'll have to listen to the other songs a little more and maybe it will grow on me.

I disliked their first album, really liked their second one, absolutely loved their third one and have loathed everything since.

I didn't care all that much for their first album. I liked "Point number one" and maybe one other song and that was about it.

Lots of people on the Tunelab message board are hating on Sci-Fi Crimes because of how it was recorded without any extra processing to give it a "live" feel. I personally like it that cause it almost gives the music more passion because you're hearing it the way you would hear it anytime they play it outside of the studio

At first it was "Vena Sera Pt. 2" to me, but after several listens I've grown quite fond of this cd. Pete's lyrics are as good, if not better than they have ever been. The music and the manner in which he sings the songs has remained mostly the same, but I think overall this is their most focused sounding cd since "Wonder What's Next". The only song I don't care for is Roswell's Spell.

Well Chevelle have always been compared to Tool, but while I do hear some similarities, they really sound nothing alike overall. Tools sound has more of a rawness to it, thanks to Adams guitar style. Not to mention Maynard has more vocal range and style than Pete.

I really didn't like it at first, with a few exceptions (Sleep Apena, Shameful Metaphors and The Circus) But it has grown on me, I've been listening to it for a week for so straight. It's not the best Chevelle CD, but its still pretty good.

Anyone heard the acoustic version of Sleep Apnea? I think I like that version better.

                    I really like it.

I listened to a few songs off of both Wonder What's Next and This Type Of Thinking (Could Do Us In), but really liked Vena Sera. This album is similar to Vena Sera and I'm liking it just as much.

Like "Sleep Apnea", "Jars", "Shameful Metaphors", "This Circus", "Fell Into Your Shoes", and "A New Momentum" the most.

Yeah, my opinion of this album has changed for the better now that I have listened to it a good deal. I pretty much like all the songs you just mentioned.
