No doubt, while I laughed my *** off at boldness of Kanye and how he poofed on stage, or my thoughts about who deserved the award, I do think it was uncalled for. I chose the wrong words last night when I said I was glad he did it. I don't mean that, I just felt like her getting the award was political I guess. How Beyonce won best video of the year period, but not win best female video all but confirmed it for me.

Regardless, Kanye was dead wrong and he deserves all the heat he will get from it. It was a punk move, he had no right and it was really none of his business who won or didn't. It's like I told my wife, he chose his victim carefully because if it was Pink who won the award, I have no doubts that he wouldn't have done that. He bullied that girl last night, in front of her peers and the world. I'm glad Beyonce let Taylor have her time in the end.

Beyonce was pure class. She had been in the girls shoes in the past and I'm sure she would have had the same expression as Swift did last night, had someone ran up on the stage when she was 17.

So it was nice of her to be so gracious at the end.

This. Plus, theres a bigger issue here, IMO. Kanye DOESN'T LIKE WHITE PEOPLE and he is a hypocrite for what he said about Bush. Plain and Simple.

If that would have been Rihanna up there do you think that he would have did that? No I think not.

I'm not directing this to anyone in this thread. Just stating this as it's my opinion. Anyone who respects Kanye West is an idiot. The guy has absolutely no respect for others and just continues to make a fool of himself. Definately not someone I'd be respecting, that's for sure.

Is it fair to respect his musical talent (which I do) but not his...personal self (which I don't)?

I love Kanye's music (I've listened to nothing but "The College Dropout" for the past week or so) as I said earlier, but really am getting sick of his "Better than you" persona.

I don't think race has much to do with it. Like I said, I don't think he would have done it to Pink and she's white. It's because Taylor is young, she doesn't have strong/bold personality and would be the least likely to fight back onstage. Pink is the type of personality that I think if Kanye tried to pull that mess on her she would have gone for his face right then and there.
