Re: Dear Megan Fox:
It's obvious that Transformers made her even more searchable. I'm not disputing that.
I'm disputing the claim that she was unknown. People on this board were talking about Megan Fox well before Transformers. I found out about Megan Fox from this board and then heard her name everywhere once I started to pay attention.
There's a reason guys were happy that she was going to be in Transformers. It wasn't a "Oh, who's that hot chick?" It was, "Oh, snap, Megan Fox is going to be in Transformers!"
The only mention of her I can find on the board prior to Transformers is in the "Babe Showdown"
No Transformers and she's in Sci-Fi originals.Last edited by Cebby; 09-15-2009, 11:32 PM.Comment

Re: Dear Megan Fox:
As far as Transformers "making" her, I think this sums it up pretty well:

I'm just not a fan of tats.
I also hate Angelina Jolie's tats. But I'm sure she likes it, so more power to her.
As for that other girl, what an idiot. I believe that was the person that lied about her tattoos saying it was done against her will.Comment

Re: Dear Megan Fox:
As for the last statement, I don't get the point of it. When did I say she would be a star without Transformers?"It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

Re: Dear Megan Fox:
For anyone that paid attention to the HD-DVD vs. blu ray format war, you'd remember that Michael Bay made some pretty ridiculous fanboy comments. IMO, they are basically the same person. Mr. Pot meet Miss Kettle....Comment

Re: Dear Megan Fox:
Well, Michael Bay definitely has reason to be an egotistical prick about his work. He makes big films that people watch and he's banking millions as a result.
If he wants to take credit for making somebody's career, he has a strong right to claim so. It's extremely difficult to argue against him.
My opinion is he claims that Megan Fox was a nobody and I just don't agree with that. Was she as big as she is now? Of course not. Did Transformers make her a star? Of course.
But, I could also say that Michael Bay is only a big time director because of CGI. Without that, where would he be? But, I only say that to make a point. I don't really defend it because I don't care."It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace
