New Pearl Jam CD out today - Backspacer

I know there are some PJ fans on this board, and some that hate them. But for the ones that like PJ, used to like PJ or still love PJ, the album is out today at Target for $11.98.

When you buy it from Target you get to download 2 free live shows as well.

Also, if you are on the fence, you can go to http://www.myspace.com/tenclub to listen to the songs.

As for my personal opinion, I love it. Been a long time PJ fan and think this one is the best since Yield. Very happy with it and some classic songs on there.

I might wait a couple weeks before I pick it up since there are a couple albums coming out this week that I'm already getting.

Is it really better than their last one? I thought that one was really good.

I think it is all about personal preferences. I have been a PJ since TEN and have seen them 25 times. I thought Binaural was horrible with the exception of about 4 songs, maybe 5. Thought Riot Act was a step in the right direction. Thought the self-titled album (last album) was MUCH better than Binaural and Riot Act and feel like this album even tops the last. There are a couple of truly amazing songs on this album and a whole lot of very good songs.

The is a short album, time wise, closing in at 36 minutes. No hidden track. No long songs. But very lean and what is there, for the most part, is stellar.

Definitely check out MYSPACE to listen to the songs first hand. I would give them a couple of listens before deciding to make sure it is a sound you like, but there is some vintage Pearl Jam there and if you are a fan, you will most likely like this album.

I may also wait a few weeks to get it, but I eventually will. Just too much music coming out in the near future

Album is very blah for me. Not the biggest Pearl Jam fan, but nothing here really makes me want to listen to it again. Very cookie cutter type sound to me.

Bought it last night (the $30 limited edition) and I think it's pretty decent. I'll listen to it over and over again to the point where I start to learn the words instinctively, but I know there will be some songs I won't be looking forward to as much as others.

On the downside with this thing, I claimed my Rock Band code but it's invalid. What the hell is this? I spent this money to be able to play these songs before Thursday, and now I can't even play them. It would have been cheaper (no tax) for me to just get these songs Thursday, and now I'm stuck with an invalid code.

Definitely isn't. I tried and retried the code.

It probably won't be up until Thursday knowing Sony, so that means I actually paid more for zero reason and now I have a DVD-sized case for a CD.

But wait, it gets worse. Now I can't seem to sync this album with my iPod. I can get it on my iTunes, but it won't sync the files. I've unchecked and rechecked the songs, tried to sync manually, allocated memory, reset my iPod and my computer, relocated the music files, etc. It will remove and re-add my other songs on my computer, but not this album for some reason.

Anyone else getting these issues?
